57-years old American actor Nicolas Cage tied the knot for the 5th time in his life and confirmed that he married 26-year-old Riko Shibata in February in a “small and intimate wedding” in Las Vegas. The Academy Award winner confirmed the rumours of his wedding talking to People magazine and said, “It’s true, we are very happy.” The couple got married on February 16, 2021.
According to Cage’s representative, the couple met in Japan over a year ago. 26-year-old Riko spent much of the COVID-19 pandemic phase in Japan according to Cage himself who revealed the juicy details of his personal life on a podcast interview his brother hosted. The wedding was extra special as Nicolas revealed to the Hollywood Reporter how he got Riko a black diamond engagement ring. “Her favourite colour is black so she wanted the black gold and the black diamond. I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her [through] FedEx,” said the Lord of War actor.
Cage’s representative also gave interesting details post the former’s wedding and said how Riko wore a handmade Japanese Kimono from Kyoto which required 3-layers. The couple reportedly exchanged both traditional Catholic and Shinto vows in the wedding ceremony. The ceremony also included a Japanese Haiku and poetry from legendary poet Walt Whitman. The marriage date holds a special place in the heart of Cage as it is also the birthday of his late father, August Coppola. According to reports, Nicolas Cage’s union was followed by a reception that was attended by Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim and his son.
Prior to his 5th wedding, the lovely couple was photographed by Daily Mail in February when they made a visit to the 9-foot-pyramid shaped tomb at New Orleans. Nicolas Cage bought his own tomb back in 2010 for his burial.
The couple was then photographed by paparazzi when they were visiting New York City’s American Museum of Natural History.

Nicolas Cage, who will be seen in the Amazon’s Joe Exotic miniseries, was married to Hollywood actress Patricia Arquette from 1995-2001. The couple separated after which Cage went on to tie the knot with Lisa Marie Presley in 2002.
It should be noted that Lisa is the daughter of the monumental singer Elvis Presley. However, the marriage didn’t last long as the couple had to go splitsville and finalized their divorce in 2004. The same year Cage married Alice Kim. The couple welcomed son Kal-El (after Superman’s birth name).
The couple parted ways in 2016 after 12 years of seemingly strong-looking marriage. After 3-years Cage had a short-lived 4-day marriage with Erika Koike in March 2019. The couple was granted a divorce several months after their wedding. Nicolas also has another son, Weston, with actress Christina Fulton.
