After residents, a Zomato delivery agent & security guard exchanged blows in Public in Noida with video of the incident making rounds of social media. The incident comes just days after a resident in Noida’s Sector 74 thrashed a security guard over his refusal of taking the stray dog out of the residential society. The Zomato agent-security guard clash is the most recent incident in the recent spate of assaults against security guards in Noida.

According to reports, the most recent incident took place earlier on Sunday morning in Noida’s Sector 46. The security guard was identified as Ram Sharma while the delivery agent was identified as Sabi Singh. Both Ram and Sabi were arrested following incident.

Shocking video of the incident shows both the parties exchanging blows and raining sticks on each other. The tussle got so bad that at one point, Nabi Singh can be seen lying on the ground in the video. The incident is from Noida’s Gardenia Glory society.

Reportedly, Singh had arrived at the society to deliver an order. As per the society’s rule, the customer was supposed to approve Nabi Singh’s entry after being informed by the guard. However, the resident didn’t approve of the delivery, leading to an argument between Nabi and the guard, which later turned into a melee-like altercation.

The Facts of the Matter

Noida has been witnessing a recent spate of attacks against security guards. In the past two months, multiple men and women have been caught on CCTV assaulting security guards, triggering outrage on social media. Earlier on Sunday, a similar incident was reported from the city where a Zomato food delivery agent and a security guard exchanged blows, leading to both being arrested.

The incident occurred at the Gardenia Glory society in Noida’s Sector 74. The guard in question was identified as Ram Sharma while the delivery agent was Nabi Singh.

Nabi and Ram’s scuffle was caught on video, visuals of which are making rounds of social media.

What Does the Video Show?

The video of the scuffle going viral on social media shows a security guard and delivery agent arguing outside the main gate of a society. As the argument escalates, some bystanders intervene and try to cool the two parties down.

However, soon the argument escalates into a scuffle and both the sides are seen hitting each other brutally with sticks in their hands with rain falling. The video ends with the delivery agent Nabi Singh lying on the road and a woman intervening.

What Caused the Altercation

Ashutosh Dwivedi, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Police (Noida), told media that the scuffle broke out sometime around 12 pm when Nabi had come to the society to deliver an order. As per the protocol, Ram Sharma, the guard, was supposed to let Nabi enter the society after the customer approved of the same. However, when the customer didn’t approve the entry, an argument broke out between the two sides.

Guard, Delivery Agent Taken Into Custody

Both Nabi and Ram were taken into custody under the CrPC Section 151 (prevention of cognizable offence) and were produced before the local magistrate. The duo was also booked under CrPC Section 107 (maintenance of peace).

Recent Spate of Assaults Involving Security Guards in Noida

The incident was the most recent in the long string of altercations caught on CCTV in the recent months involving residents and security guards.

Earlier last week, a security guard in Sector 74 was thrashed by a resident over his refusal to remove a stray dog from the society.

Earlier in September, a female professor was caught on CCTV slapping a security guard in Sector 121 of Noida after there was a delay in her car being let inside the society.

In August, a female lawyer was caught on CCTV abusing a security guard, hurling casteist abuse at him, and manhandling him. She was later arrested and then released on bail.
