Weeks after the encounter of Atiq Ahmad’s son Asad, the UP police gunned down another notorious gangster, Anil Dujana, in an encounter that took place in Meerut. While more information on the details of the case is still awaited, it is being reported that Dujana had as many as 62 cases registered against him. News agency ANI also showed visuals of the Anil Dujana encounter’s aftermath.
In a jaw-dropping encounter that sent shockwaves through the criminal underworld, notorious gangster Anil Dujana met his grisly end on Thursday evening at the hands of the Uttar Pradesh STF in Meerut. Anil Dujana, whose name had become synonymous with fear and terror in Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Delhi-NCR and Haryana, was a contract killer with a staggering 18 murder cases against him.
Riding in his Scorpio car on the way to meet his gang members in Meerut, Dujana was ambushed by the STF. What followed was a fierce and intense gun battle, with both sides exchanging a hail of bullets. A total of 21 rounds were fired in the encounter, with Dujana himself unleashing 15 rounds before he was finally silenced forever.
Dujana had been in jail since 2012, but was released on bail in 2021. A non-bailable warrant was later issued against him for non-appearance in old cases.

Dujana was Threatening to Kill Murder Witness
Immediately after his release, Dujana started threatening one of the key witnesses in the murder case filed against him. The witness, terrified for his life, had informed the police, who immediately moved in to arrest the gangster. But Dujana was not one to go down without a fight.
He and his gang had been hiding in a village in Meerut, surrounded by tall bushes and an unpaved road. When the STF operatives approached, Dujana and his gang opened fire, leading to a fierce gunfight.
Account of High-Octane Encounter
There was a total of 21 rounds of firing from both sides in the encounter, with Dujana firing 15 rounds. The sound of gunfire echoed through the village, sending the residents running for cover. But the police were determined to take down the dreaded gangster, and they did not back down.

Dujana, reportedly, was driving in a Scorpio car, taking potshots at the police as he tried to make his escape. Eventually, he was gunned down by the STF personnel, and with that, came an end to the years of cyclical terror and horror Dujana was part of.

Dujana had Bounties on Head
According to reports, Dujana was released on bail in 2021, after being put in jail back in 2012. Soon, the court issued a non-bailable warrant, for his non-appearance in his older cases. Failing to show up, Dujana carried a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head, as announced by Bulandshahr police, while Noida Police put a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head.
Anil Dujana, born Anil Singh, had first come under the police radar in 2002 after he murdered a man in Sector-8, Noida, and stole Rs 5.5 lakh he was carrying. Since then, he had been involved in multiple cases of murder, extortion, and other crimes, becoming one of the most wanted criminals in the state.
