Ahead of its released, it is now being speculated that Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ may be boycotted in Madhya Pradesh. MP BJP Minister Narottam Mishra took a staunch stance after the SRK-Deepika steamy song ‘Besharam Rang’ released earlier this week. Taking offence to the ‘saffron costumes’ shown in the video of the song, BJP minister Narottam Mishra demanded appropriate changes, or else the film may face a ban in the Madhya Pradesh.

“The costumes are highly objectionable and the song has been shot with a dirty mindset. The scenes and costumes of the songs should be corrected, otherwise whether the film should be allowed in Madhya Pradesh or not, it would be a matter of consideration,” Dr. Narottam Mishra, Madhya Pradesh home minister, and BJP leader, said recently.

“Anyway, Deepika Padukone has been a supporter of the TukdeTukde gang when she went for the JNU protests and that is why, I would like to request that they should correct the visuals of the song, correct the costumes, or else the permission to release this film in MP should be given or not will be a thinkable question,” Dr. Mishra said in a press interview, as quoted by Indian Express.

Earlier, Dr. Mishra had been in the news for banning comedian Vir Das, demanding a withdrawal of an ad, and more.

The Facts of the Matter

Even before its release, Pathaan is in the tight grip of ‘Boycott gang’ on social media, going to lengths in vilifying its actor Shah Rukh Khan, and taking offence to its one and only released song. The boycott train has now received a new wind thanks to MP BJP minister Dr Narottam Mishra, who recently demanded in changes being made to its newly released song ‘Besharam Rang’.

Earlier this week, the Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan starrer song was released on social media. The song saw Deepika dressed in bikinis, serenading Shah Rukh Khan with voice lent by Shilpa Rao.
