Origin of the “Ye humari pawri ho rahi hai” meme
The “pawri” meme fest has social media on fire after it surfaced online last week. In the video, Pakistani influencer Danaeer Mobeen spoke in a sarcastic heavily accented voice as she stood having a “pawry” with her friends with their car parked.
In her post, she said, “Ye humari car hai, ye hum hai, aur ye humari pawri (party) ho rahi hai, (This is our car, this is us and this is our party going on”).
Since then nearly every Indian brand tried to cash in the trend and promote their brand using the “pawry” trick. The popularity of the trend reached its flashpoint when famous Instagram content creator Yashraj Mukhate also gave his musical spin to it. Since then the video has become a raging hit and has been surfacing everywhere.
