After major brands like Netflix, SBI, and Zomato, it is Uttar Pradesh Police that has joined the “pawri ho rahi hai” meme trend that has taken the social media world by storm. The UP police is known for raising awareness and reach out to the netizens through its humorous posts. In its recent post, the Uttar Pradesh Police cashed in the “pawri” trend and asked the netizens to call them on the emergency 112 number if they are disturbed by late-night parties.

The UP police tweeted a picture of a police vehicle with text which said “Ye hum hai aur humari car hai. Agar late-night pawri aapko distrub kar rahi hai toh ye humara numbar hai – 112, (This is us, this is our car, if late night parties disturb you, this is our number-112)”. The post has been retweeted 2,885 times by Twitter users and liked by more than 12 thousand people.

Origin of the “Ye humari pawri ho rahi hai” meme

The “pawri” meme fest has social media on fire after it surfaced online last week. In the video, Pakistani influencer Danaeer Mobeen spoke in a sarcastic heavily accented voice as she stood having a “pawry” with her friends with their car parked.

In her post, she said, “Ye humari car hai, ye hum hai, aur ye humari pawri (party) ho rahi hai, (This is our car, this is us and this is our party going on”).

Since then nearly every Indian brand tried to cash in the trend and promote their brand using the “pawry” trick. The popularity of the trend reached its flashpoint when famous Instagram content creator Yashraj Mukhate also gave his musical spin to it. Since then the video has become a raging hit and has been surfacing everywhere.
