In a strange turn-of-events, a photographer deleted pictures in front of the bride and groom after being denied food at a wedding. Reportedly, the groom told the wedding photographer that she can’t take a break to have some food or drink.

The audacity of the groom infuriated the photographer. While some would’ve cursed the groom under their breathe and continued taking pictures, this photographer did something interesting. She took to the bride and groom, and deleted all the pictures in front of them.

Wedding – it’s one of those special days in a person and a family’s life where splurging large amount of money is not frowned upon. From the caterers, to the venue, to the wedding photographer, people go to lengths to witness and host a dream wedding.

What happens though when one can’t look back to the dream wedding as the photographer deleted all the lovely pictures. Further, the deletion of the pictures occurs due to a small disagreement.

Reddit is known as the gold-mine for content on internet. The forum known for its interesting, funny and sometimes – downright bizarre threads, once again churned out a fascinating story. It’s the story of a wedding photographer having the courage to delete all the pictures of the wedding, in front of the bride and groom.

Man Asks Friend to Shoot Wedding to Save Money

On a particular reddit thread, a woman shared her story. The woman claimed that she was not really a wedding-photographer but a dog groomer. She wrote, “A friend got married a few days ago and wanting to save money, asked if I’d shoot it for them.” She further added, that the bride and groom were on a small budget and it was decided that she would be paid $250 (approx Rs. 18,500) for a 10-hour event.

“On the day of…”: Photographer Gives Account of the Wedding

She then gives an account of what all happened that day. “On the day of, I’m driving around following the bride as she goes from appointment to appointment before the ceremony, taking photos along the way. I shoot the ceremony itself, and during the reception I’m shooting speeches and people mingling,” she wrote.

She claimed that she started at 11 AM and was supposed to finish around at 7.30 PM. When the food was served, she was told that she can’t stop to eat as she was supposed to be photographer. The also added that the venue was hot and there was no AC.

Photographer Asks for a 20-minute Break, Groom Denies

With pangs of hunger, she went to the groom and asked 20-minute break to get some food. However, the groom told her that she can leave without pay or she can continue clicking pictures. The photographer asked if he was sure, and when he agreed, she did something that surprised the groom.

“I asked if he was sure, and he said yes, so I deleted all the photos I took in front of him and took off saying I’m not his photographer anymore. If I was to be paid $250, honestly at that point I would have paid $250 just for a glass of cold water and somewhere to sit for 5min,” the photographer added.

 Post Goes Viral, Reddit Users Show Support to Photographer

The thread instantly got viral on Reddit and soon Redditers came in full support of the photographer.

“You could have risked your health and they treated you like shit,” wrote a follower.

“Who refuses to allow someone water or food?”, quipped another.

You were working ridiculous hours without a break. Labor laws require breaks for employees at companies, so why not for you? No breaks for a 10 Hour event is insane, and 20 minutes is not unreasonable. You were taken advantage of (a professional would have known to negotiate a break in the contract). Unfortunately you now know why it is bad to mix friendship and business,” a Reddit user summarized people’s feelings.
