Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday stated focus on the testing, tracking and treatment of people, rather than on inoculation of COVID-19 vaccine because it is an ongoing process. PM Modi virtually interacted with all States Chief Ministers and UT’s.

PM Modi conducted a virtual meeting to focus on the strategies and efforts to curb the surge of COVID-19 cases. In the meeting, he directly stated that there should be a strict restriction for 2 to 3 weeks to control the infection.

At the meeting, PM said, “We don’t need a complete lockdown in the current scenario”. As the nation is facing a second wave of COVID-19 and India is reporting above 1 lakh cases per day.

PM Modi at the meeting stated, “A 3day COVID-19 vaccination festival will be conducted from 11th of April to 14th April 2021 between the birth anniversaries of Jyotiba Phule on 11th April and B. R. Ambedkar on 14th April, and the states must achieve the highest inoculation of vaccine doses.”

PM Modi also alerted the states that they should focus on the testing, tracking and treatment of COVID-19 cases.

“The states should focus on Proactive testing to identify the positive cases of COVID-19, PM said. We should not take the testing process lightly”, PM said.

In the meeting PM also said to “focus on the micro-containment area to break the curb of the new strain of COVID-19” and highlighted, “Our target is to test 70% RT-PCR”.

PM said that during the curfews the States should use the word “Corona Curfew” in place of the word “night curfews” so that people get aware that curfews are imposed due to COVID-19. After this, people will take precautions and safety towards the COVID disease.

“Last year we have reduced the COVID cases from 10 lakhs to 1 lakh and so this time we can easily and quickly decline the curb of COVID-19 cases across the nation”- PM stated.

PM Modi said that “Last year we were not prepared with the strategy to break the chain, but this time we have sufficient resources, experience, treatment and strategy to control the surge of COVID-19 disease.” He directly emphasized that “the nation has enough resources and arrangements so the States need to make micro-containment zone”.

According to PM Modi people’s attitude is too causal towards the COVID-19, so this time once again the States and UT’s should aware the people about the importance of masks, washing hands, sanitizing vaccines, and other COVID safety protocols.

PM Modi said, “Remember that earlier we already won the fight without Vaccines.”

In the current situation, the PM said, “We have forgotten about the testing and treatment and else we all are moving towards the inoculation”.

As per the reports India is on the worst hits and recorded 13,060,542 total cases and logs 131,968 new cases and deaths is above 1,67,642 in the span of the last 24 hours.

As per the analysis, the current capacity of vaccine doses is 75 Million doses and 3.1 Million doses were distributed last month. Currently, the nation is vaccinating above the age of 45 years and will focus on 100% coverage of doses.

PM even discussed the CO-WIN registration and said the states should emphasise on test, track, and treat. The next 4 weeks are very critical for the nation so, people should take safety precautions.

This is a challenging strain, so the PM appealed to take precautions and follow all the protocols instructed by the health departments.
