On Saturday, popular Marathi actor Kalyani Kurale Jadhav died at 32 in a road accident in Maharashtra’s Kolhapur. The 32-year-old actor was on her motorcycle when she crashed into a concrete mixer. The accident occurred after the actor left her restaurant and was on Sangli-Kolhapur highway. Jadhav was reportedly on her way to home when her two-wheeler hit the dumper vehicle on the Kolhapur road. The development is tragic for Kalyani’s fans as it comes days after she opened a restaurant.

The actor was rushed to a local hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. A Kolhapur police official was quoted by Press Trust of India saying, “She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. A case has been filed against the tractor driver under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act provisions.”

Kalyani’s untimely death was condoled by local BJP MLA Meghna Sakore Bordikar who took to Twitter and wrote, “Due to the accidental death of actress Kalyani Jadhav from the serial ‘Tuzhyat Jeev Rangala’, the Marathi industry has lost a good actress. May her soul rest in peace. A heartfelt tribute!”.

One of the most prominent faces of Marathi entertainment industry, she was seen in shows which include Tujhyat Jeev Rangla and Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba.

Her death comes just days after actor Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi died after collapsing at gym.

The Facts of the Matter

The Marathi entertainment industry is mourning the loss of popular actor Kalyani Kurale Jadhav’s untimely accidental death. The 32-year-old actor was on her motorcycle and crashed into a concrete mixer in Kolhapur. Shockingly enough, Kalyani was leaving from her restaurant, an establishment she opened very recently, when the accident happened.

The shocking accident happened the Halondi Sangli Phata when the concrete mixer collided with her on a road near her restaurant. She was at the Halondi intersection on the Sangli-Kolhapur highway at the time of the accident.

Kalyani was Riding Home After Closing Restaurant

An Indian Express report quoted an official involved in the investigation of the case saying, “… Jadhav was riding home after closing the restaurant for the day when the accident took place. Her two-wheeler was knocked down by a tractor. She sustained fatal injuries due to the impact.” Most media reports have since then reported that it was a concrete mixer that she got knocked on by.

Driver Booked & Detained

The actor was rushed to a local hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. A case was registered against the driver of the truck under sections of IPC and Motor Vehicles Act. A cop with the Kolhapur police was quoted by PTI saying, “She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. A case has been filed against the tractor driver under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act provisions.”

The driver of the vehicle which caused Kalyani’s death was detained, cops confirmed.

Who was Kalyani Kurale Jadhav?

For the unversed Kalyani Kurale Jadhav became famous for her appearance in shows including Tujhyat Jeev Rangla and Dakkhancha Raja Jyotibha. Jadhav had recently opened a restaurant, and used to actively shared snippets from her restaurant on her social media.

Kalyani had Posted Reel Hours Before Accident

In a cruel twist of fate, the actor had taken to Instagram just hours before her accident, and had shared a reel.

Kalyani’s death comes just days after another popular Indian television actor, Siddhaanth Vir Surryavanshi, died on November 11 this year. The 46-year-old actor was working out at a gym in Mumbai where he collapsed. He was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Although doctors did try to revive him, he passed away.
