In an incident that may looked as the Pulwama revenge, a JeM terrorists involved in the Pulwama terror attack were killed today by the J&K forces. The J&K forces also gunned down another terrorist in the encounter. On July 31, the J&K forces gunned down a militant who was known as Lamboo, Ismail and Adnan in his Jaish-e-Mohammed terror outfit. The encounter took place in the Tal’s Hangalmarg region, Pulwama.

Abu Saifullah, one of the top Pakistani terrorists who was affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) was gunned down today in Pulwama. Also known as Adnan, Ismail and Lamboo, Abu was gunned down in an encounter which happened when the J&K security forces initiated an operation in the morning. During the search and cordon operation, the forces received firing and had to retaliate the same way.

According to reports, Abu Saifullah was also reported to have been called by other names such as Adnan, Ismail and Lamboo. He had been operating in the Pulwama valley since 2017 and was carrying forward the instructions and directions of Jaish-E-Mohammed top brass. Along with him, another terrorist, whose identity hasn’t been revealed yet, was killed in the encounter.

An official close to the matter was quoted saying-

“He was involved in a series of terror attacks, including the Pulwama attack of February 14, 2019, along with others. Adnan was a very strong associate of Pakistan-based top JeM hierarchy of Rauf Azhar, Maulana Masood Azhar and Ammar.”

Adnan Could’ve Been Nabbed in 2020

Earlier in 2020, he got inches closer to being nabbed or killed when the joint forces had launched a cordon and search operation at the Chadoora Budgam against him. In that incident, he had fled and escaped while 1 joint forces soldier was injured. During 2018-2020, Lamboo was booked under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act) and under IPC’s several sections.

He was Trained with Taliban, had Expertise in IED

A JeM affiliate, Saifullah took training with the Taliban and had an expertise in matters pertaining to IED (improvised explosive device). He was also an aid to top brass terrorists Talha Saif and Umer, both terminated. According to a Hindustan Times report, Saifullah was working towards reestablish the JeM dominance and was making efforts to strengthen JeM’s outfit.

The report also claimed that Saifullah was using Pulwama regions such as Awantipora, Pampore and others as a breeding ground where he could recruit more terrorist groups and direct them to other regions where they can carry out attacks.

The Pulwama Attack Recap

But perhaps Saifullah’s most infamous act was his participation in the 2019 Pulwama attack. In February, 2019, a convoy that was ferrying CRPF personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway was attacked by a suicide bomber at Pulwama’s Awantipora region. This attack led to the death of all 40 CRPF men that were aboard the convoy including the perpetrator. Following the attack, terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed took the responsibility for the heinous act.

Turning our focus back to the current killing of JeM militant, according to the officials, an M4 rifle, an AK47 rifle, a Glock pistol was recovered from the gunned down terrorists. Since January 2021, the J&K security forces have killed at least 87 JeM terrorists, including some of its top-brass elects.
