In a horrific incident reported from Pune, an elderly woman was reportedly killed by her grandson and son. The accused reportedly used an electric cutter to chop the victim’s body into pieces. The incident was reported from Pune’s Mundhwa and occurred earlier on August 5. The victim is identified as 62-year-old Usha Vitthal Gaikwad while the accused was identified as grandson Sahil and son Sandip Gaikwad.

During the interrogation, it was revealed that both the accused were angry with the victim for not giving them jewellery and her house in Keshav Nagar. The accused in a fit of rage strangled the victim to death. Further, the grandson brought an electronic cutter and chopped the victim’s body into multiple pieces. The accused then stuffed the victim’s mutilated body pieces into a bag and dumped the bag in a river.

The incident was brought to the fore earlier on August 5 when the accused filed a missing complaint about the victim at the Mundhwa police station. However, the victim’s daughter filed a complaint, alleging foul play, and a potential role of the accused behind the disappearance of her mother.

The accused have been booked under multiple sections pertaining to murder and destruction of evidences under the Indian Penal Code.

The Facts of the Matter

A 62-year-old woman was recently murdered brutally by her son and grandson, both of whom were recently arrested by the Pune police. The accused had reportedly strangled the victim, chopped her body with electric cutter, and then dumped the bag filled with the mutilated pieces in multiple river bodies across the city.

Accused Filed Missing Person’s Complaint

The incident came to the fore after Sahil Gaikwad and her father Sandeep filed a missing person’s complaint for 62-year-old Usha Gaikwad. Sahil in his complaint alleged that he had not seen her grandmother since August 5.

However, the police were startled to receive another complaint from Shital Kamble, who filed a complaint alleging the involvement of Sandeep and Sahil in the disappearance of her 62-year-old mother.

Investigation Ensues, Accused Confesses

Based on initial investigation, the police arrested Sahil for abduction and criminal conspiracy. During sustained interrogation, the father and son accused confessed to the crime. The accused were angry over the family property and jewllery owned by the victim.

Further, the victim had also asked the accused duo to leave her house in the past.

The Act & the Aftermath

Earlier on August 5, an argument ensued between the two sides and Sahil strangled his grandmother to death. Further, to mislead the police and their investigation, he kept her smartphone at a different location.

The accused had reportedly bought an electronic cutter and chopped her grandmother’s deceased body into pieces. The father-son duo then stuffed the body pieces in gunny bags and threw them in multiple river beds across Pune.
