In a horrific incident reported from Pune, a man reportedly watched multiple crime web shows and films to plan the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s husband. The accused was held for the murder of the said victim. The incident occurred earlier on August 21 and the accused was arrested earlier on Thursday.
The victim in the incident was identified as Prakash Bhise (26), a Chandan Nagar resident. The accused was identified as Satyavan Shinde, who reportedly had an affair with victim’s wife before her wedding. The other person arrested for his involvement was identified as Sangram aka Babu Bamne. It should be noted that both the accused are residents of Solapur.
The matter came to the fore when the police received an alert of Bhise, garbage van worker, getting shot. Soon, an investigation was kicked off in the matter. The police started analyzing the CCTV footages from the area of the crime scene and were able to narrow down the suspects.
During the investigation, the police were able to track the sports bike accused had used as a getaway vehicle during the time of the murder. As per a press released, the accused started watching crime shows to hatch a murder plan.
The accused procured an illegal pistol, and committed the crime.
The Facts of the Matter
While a lot has been debated on the extent of society being influenced by television shows and films, a shocking crime was recently committed in Pune with crime shows as inspiration.
A 28-year-old man reportedly shot dead his ex-girlfriend’s husband in hopes to rekindle their relationship which ended when she got married to the victim. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Praksh Bhise, was a garbage van worker.
Bhise was gunned down earlier on August 21, and the accused were arrested on Thursday this week. The police also arrested Babu Bamne, who was co-accused in the matter.

Accused Watch Crime Shows to Plan Murder
According to an Indian Express report, the accused had been planning to eliminate the victim in hopes of rekindling his relationship with his ex-girlfriend (victim’s wife). Probe revealed that the accused watched different crime shows and movies and planned his murder.

The Crime & Investigation
He got his hands on illegal gun, stole a sports bike and used a helmet as a shield to hide his face. After that, the accused kept a track of the victim’s movement. On August 21, he opened fire at the accused, while being accompanied by Bamne, and the two fled the scene of crime.
Based on the FIR filed at Chandan Nagar police station, an investigation was soon kicked off in the matter after police were alerted about a crime transpiring on August 21. The police analyzed CCTV footage from the crime scene and gathered enough clues to zero-in on the suspects.

Arrests Made
On August 25, a crime branch team, led by inspector Jayant Rajurkar arrested the key accused from Karnataka’s Bidar. Meanwhile, the co-accused was also arrested from Solapur district. Co-accused Bamne had taken a job as hotel manager in Solapur.
