A pilot recently threatened to turn his plane around after being frustrated over passengers airdropping nudes to other fliers. “Whatever that AirDrop thing is, quit sending naked pictures and let’s get yourself to Cabo,” the annoyed pilot was heard saying during this pre-flight announcement. The incident was reported from a Southwest Airlines flight from Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The incident was first brought to the fore by a TikTok user who shared the video of the entire ordeal. The video has since gone viral on the platform, garnering over 2.7 million views.
‘So here’s the deal. “If this continues while we’re on the ground I’m going to have to pull back to the gate, everybody’s going to have to get off, we’re going to have to get security involved and vacation is going to be ruined,” the pilot was heard saying in the video.
“So you folks, whatever that AirDrop thing is, quit sending naked pictures and let’s get yourself to Cabo,” the exasperated pilot added.
The cyberflashing reportedly took place before the plane took off as a passenger accepted am explicit image airdropped to their phone and complained to the flight attendant. The pilot’s warning apparently worked and the rest of the flight was uneventful, perhaps for the best.
The Facts of the Matter
Apple’s AirDrop feature is godsent for those who are on iOS and MacOS and want to share date to other devices on the same network. However, the same feature caused annoyance to a Southwestern Airlines pilot after he was complained that fliers were exchanging naked pictures.

Pilot Gets Annoyed over Cyberflashing
The incident took place recently at a Southwest Airlines flight that was flying from Houston to Mexico. The pilot of the flight was so frustrated with the ordeal that he threatened the passengers of turning the plane around if they continue with their cyberflashing.

What Caused the Pilot to Issue the Warning
After the video of the incident went viral, one of the passengers of the flight spoke to CNN and shared what transpired at the flight which caused the pilot to make the announcement. The passenger claimed that she and other fliers received a notification of files being Air Dropped.
While she denied to receive the file, two women accepted it. The picture was that of a nude man. Upset over receiving the unwarranted nude picture, the two women reached out to the flight attendant and made a complaint.
Southwest Airlines Issues Statement
Meanwhile, following the incident, the Southwest Airlines issued a statement which read – “The safety, security and wellbeing of Customers and Employees is the Southwest Team’s highest priority at all times. When made aware of a potential problem, our employees address issues to support the comfort of those traveling with us.”
It should be noted that the passengers took heed of the pilot’s warning, and the rest of the flight was uneventful.
