A bride in Rajasthan’s Kota got multiple fractures during a wedding eve mishap. However, her groom decided to stay by her side and even came to the hospital to get married to her. In countless western weddings across the world, couple take vows where they say “in sickness and in health, until death do us part”. The Rajasthan-based couple became a testament to the age-old adage of “in sickness and in health”.
It so happened that Rajasthan-based betrothed couple Pankaj and Madhu were supposed to get married earlier last week on Sunday. The wedding preparations were in full swing and both the families were looking forward to having their children be tied in the union of marriage. However, unbeknownst to anyone a mishap took place.
During the wedding preparations, the bride in question fell down 15 stairs. The sudden fall caused her to have fractures in both her arms and legs. Further, she also sustained minor injuries on her head and had to be rushed to the MBS Hospital in Kota.
Later, the groom Pankaj expressed her desire to be by his betrothed side. He also expressed his desire to get married to Madhu in the hospital itself. The family asked the hospital if they could turn one of the smaller wards into a mandap, and the couple got married.
The Facts of the Matter
Families of couples across the nation put aside their life’s savings for a grand wedding they would want to have for their children. From destination weddings, to unique wedding venues, families go all out in giving the bride and groom an experience they would cherish for life.
However, a couple in Rajasthan recently had a unique wedding venue – a hospital.

The groom in question decided to not let the bride feel the regret of having the wedding postponed. He chose to get married to the bride in the hospital itself.
The incident comes from Kota, where Pankaj and Madhu were supposed to get married earlier on Sunday. While Pankaj hails from Ramganjmandi, his bride Madhu lived with her family in Rawatbhata. The couple were betrothed, and were to be married earlier on Sunday.

Bride Suffers Massive Fall
The wedding preparations were in full swing over the last weekend. However, a mishap took place, sending both the families in a state of gloom. It so happened that Madhu was on the stairs, when she fell down from 15 stairs, and was left badly injured.
She was rushed to the MBS Hospital in Kota for treatment. During the treatment, Madhu received multiple fractures on her both arms and legs. She also sustained injuries on her head due to the mishapp. Later, both the families got together to decide as to how to move forward with the wedding.

Husband Takes Unique Decision
This was when Pankaj expressed the desire to stay by his bride’s side, and even marry her so that she doesn’t feel the regret of having the wedding postponed due to mishap. Rakesh Rathore, the brother-in-law of Pankaj, said that both the families decided to have the couple get married in the hospital. A room was booked and decorated where the wedding rituals took place.
Further, the groom also made sure that the bride be brought her way to the mandap from the ward. It was like any other Hindu wedding ceremony, with the couple exchanging garlands, the groom making the bride wear a mangalsutra, and more. However, the ritual of taking rounds around the fire was abandoned as the bride wasn’t able to walk.
