In a horrifying incident, a man from Rajasthan reportedly drowned a 3-year-old girl after failed attempts of molesting her. The accused man had allegedly bitten a minor boy’s private parts before as well. The incident was reported from Chittorgarh’s Laxmipura village near Bassi. The accused has been identified as Ramesh Dhakad, a resident of Kishanpura village, Bhilwara Reportedly, the minor victim had traveled with her family to attend a wedding where the accused tried to molest her.

The incident was brought to light after the victim’s family wasn’t able to locate her. On further search, the victim’s family was told that the 3-year-old was last seen playing with the accused, who had also been missing from the place.

Hours after, a few men located the accused and brought him back to the victim’s parents. The accused initially told the parents that their three-year-old daughter was playing near a well. When the well was emptied, the victim’s corpse was recovered.

According to police, the accused tried to molest the victim and on receiving resistance, the accused threw her body into a well.


According to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, as many as 800 complaints of sexual offences against minors were reported during the COVID-19 with Rajasthan topping the charts. Meanwhile, in the first 5 months of 2021, the number of cases registered under the POCSO Act surpassed the total number of such cases in 2020. From January 1 to May 31, Rajasthan reported as many as 1,200 cases being registered under the POCSO act. Meanwhile, in 2020, the total number of such cases were 1,060.

Minors continue to be on the receiving end of traumatic incidents across states and different ruling parties. This involves Rajasthan, which is a Congress ruled state, Uttar Pradesh, which is a BJP ruled state, and Maharashtra, which has a democratic alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena.

The Facts of the Matter

A three-year-old girl was drowned by a depraved accused after she resisted the man’s bid to molest her. The incident was reported from Chhitorgarh’s Laxmipura village. Reportedly, the victim was at the village to attend a wedding with her family.

3-Year-Old Girl Missing, Frantic Search Ensues

Everything was okay till the victim’s family realized that the three-year-old girl had gone missing from the house since morning. A frantic search ensued and some guests told the family that the child was seen last playing with a man.

The man, who is the suspected accused, has been identified as Ramesh Dhakad, a resident of Bhilwara’s Kishanpura village.

Victim Had Gone Missing with Another Man

The family and locals frantically searched for Ramesh and discovered that he too had gone missing. Later, some locals caught hold of the accused and brought him to the family. Ramesh Dhakad told the victim’s family that she was playing  near a well.

Police Discover Child’s Lifeless Body from Bottom of Well

Meanwhile, the police were alerted and a Civil Defence Team joined forces with the authorities. The well in question was emptied and the victim’s lifeless body was recovered down from the depths of the well. The girl was brought to a government hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to an India Today report, Ramesh took the girl to the next house the night before she had gone missing and tried to molest her. On facing resistance, the accused threw her into the well. The victim’s body has been sent for post-mortem for now.

Accused Also Bit a Boy’s Private Parts Before

It should be noted that the victim’s family has also alleged that the accused had inappropriately touched a boy and went as far as biting his private parts. When the child cried out, the accused took the three-year-old victim with him.
