Ramesh Agarwal, the father of OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, reportedly died after falling from the 20th floor of a Gurugram high-rise. The bombshell update came amid Ritesh issuing a statement, expressing his grief over his father’s sudden demise, and gratitude for all that he did. According to reports, Mr Ramesh passed away earlier on Friday, March 10.

“With a heavy heart, my family and I, would like to share that our guiding light and strength, my father, Shri Ramesh Agarwal passed away on 10 March,” Ritesh’s statement read.

“He lived a full life and inspired me and so many of us, every single day. His death is a tremendous loss for our family. My father’s compassion and warmth saw us through our toughest times and carried us forward. His words will resonate deep in our hearts,” his statement further read.

As per reports, at approximately 1 pm, the DLF Security team received information about a person falling from the 20th floor of a building situated in Sector 54 of DLF The Crest society. The individual was then swiftly transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent medical attention.

Police officials have taken cognizance of the incident and have commenced inquest proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC.

Less than a week after OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal got married to Geetansha Sood, heartbreaking news surfaced about the startup founder’s father passing away in a tragic accident. According to reports, Ramesh Agarwal, the father of Ritesh Agarwal, died after falling from the 20th floor of a Gurugram high-rise. His body was handed over to the family following the post-mortem, and a case under CrPC was registered by the authorities.

Ramesh Agarwal Fell from 20th Floor

Ramesh Agarwal, the father of OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal, passed away on Friday afternoon, after allegedly falling from the 20th floor of his apartment in the DLF The Crest society located in Sector 54 of Gurgaon. Upon receiving information about the incident from DLF Security, the police were alerted, and they rushed to the scene.

Cops Received Information Around 1 pm

As per reports, the police had received information from DLF Security around 1 pm that a person had fallen from the 20th floor of the DLF The Crest society in Sector 54, Gurugram.

The police team, along with SHO sector 53, visited the location where the incident had occurred, and upon inspection, they identified the fallen individual as Ramesh Agarwal. The police stated that Ramesh was brought dead to Paras Hospital, where he was rushed for treatment after the fall.

Police Registers Case Under Section 174

Following the statement of Ritesh Agarwal’s son, Aashish Agarwal, the police initiated proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC. As per reports, Ramesh Agarwal had been residing in the apartment with his wife and Ritesh’s mother, while Ritesh himself did not live in the same building.

OYO Founder Issues Statement

In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, Ritesh issued a statement, expressing his grief over his father’s passing.

“With a heavy heart, my family & I, would like to share that our guiding light and strength, my father, Shri Ramesh Agarwal passed away on 10 March. He lived a full life & inspired me and so many of us, every single day. His death is a tremendous loss for our family,” his statement read.

“My father’s compassion and warmth saw us through our toughest times and carried us forward. His words will resonate deep in our hearts. We request everyone to respect our privacy in this time of grief,” the statement further read.
