As the flight encountered severe technical snags and turbulence shortly after takeoff, the pilots took the prudent decision to turn back and land the aircraft safely at the Mumbai airport. In a statement issued by Air Vistara, the airline confirmed the incident, stating, “Shortly after take-off, a technical snag was detected on Vistara flight UK531 operating from Mumbai to Hyderabad on 17 February 2024. As a precautionary step, in accordance with the standard operating procedures, the pilots decided to turn-back and landed the flight safely at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport, Mumbai.”

Safety Measures and Alternate Arrangements

Vistara further clarified that the aircraft underwent necessary checks before resuming operations, ensuring the utmost safety of passengers and crew. To minimize inconvenience, the airline arranged for an alternate aircraft to complete the journey, and passengers were provided with refreshments during the delay.
