In a real-life Badlapur situation, 2 engineers who were angry over denied promotions gave Rs. 20 lakh ‘supari’ to kill their senior. The two engineers were employees at the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Mumbai. They gave a Rs. 20 lakhs contract to a hitman to kill their chief Deepak Khambit. While the senior survived the attack, investigations led to the arrest of the 2 engineers along with several others who were involved in the matter.

The Facts of the Matter

The road to promotion is filled with stressful meetings and at times, unfair assessments. 2 engineers from Mumbai were working at the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation. They were working towards a promotion but were denied the same. Letting the fury get to their heads, the engineers hired a Rs. 20 lakh contracts to hitman.

Meet the Miscreants – Engineers Angered over Denied Promotions

The two engineers – Shrikrishna Mohite (46) and Yeshwantrao Deshmukh (49) were working for the civic body since the year 2000. Their boss, Deepak Khambit, 49 was in a panel that looked over the promotions within the civic body. When the duo took to the boss, they received harsh remarks.

The duo then took to Raju Vishwakarma, a man who had links to criminals. An activist, Vishwakarma had started knowing criminals when he was in prison. In prison, he had met a criminal called Amit Sinha. It was Sinha who Vishwakarma asked to do the dirty deed.

Engineers Hire Henchman, Took 6 Months to Plan the Killing

A police official involved in the matter was quoted in a TOI report saying, “Vishwakarma runs the organisation Fight for Rights, and has spent time behind bars. During his time in jail, Vishwakarma became an acquaintance with Amit Sinha, a former Chhota Rajan henchman. The conspiracy was hatched over six months ago and the group used to hold meetings to execute the plan. Sinha and Singh also carried out a recce.”

Rs. 10 Lakhs Advance Given

The engineer duo, along with Vishwakarma took 6 months to finalize their divious plan. Meanwhile, the group also included Pradeep Pathak, a manager in Raju Vishwakarma’s organization. A few months ago, Shrikrishna gave Vishwakarma Rs. 10 lakhs advance to take out his boss. Vishwakarma hired Amit Sinha for the job, and another shooter named Ajay Singh.

The Fateful Night, Boss Survives the Attack

On September 29, Deepak was returning from to his residence in Borivli from office. This is when he was attacked by 2 bike-borne men. The bikers opened fire on him. However, Khambit survived the attack and was injured as the bullet shattered the window of the vehicle.

FIR Registered, Multiple Arrests Made

After the attack, Khambit registered an FIR against the unidentified men. The police swung in action and a manhunt began. The police checked the CCTV footages of cameras for possible leads. Soon, the police received a lead on which, it was able to nab the shooter Ajay Singh from Ghazipur, UP.

Further, investigation led the police to Sinha and arrested him from Bhadoi, UP. On October 6, the police nabbed the ultimate miscreants and arrested the two engineers.
