Indian women’s hockey team coach Sjoerd Marijne aka real-life ‘Kabir Khan’ gave a befitting reply to ‘Chak-De’ Coach Shahrukh Khan. It just so happened that the on-screen coach and off-screen coach indulged in a quick banter which evoked a lot of emotions of netizens on the social media.

The incident happened after the Indian women’s hockey team scripted history by pulling off an upset against Australia to enter the Olympics 2021 semi-final.

Indians across the world were jubilant on August 2 as the country’s women’s hockey team pulled off an upset and defeated the hockey giants Australia 1-0. With the victory, the ladies confirmed the seat in the semi-final. However, after the game, it was Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, who played the coach of Indian women’s hockey team in the 2007 film ‘Chak De! India!’ and real-life coach Sjoerd Marijne that stole the spotlight away from the victorious women in the middle.

Meanwhile, on Twitter, along with the victory of Indian women’s hockey team, ‘Chak De! India!’ too started trending. While it can’t be ascertained as to where the trend started from, the similarity of the film’s climax, where the Indian team defeats Australia in a world-cup final, could have been the reason why the film was trending.

And soon, it was none other than the ‘Chak De!’ coach that took to Twitter. Replying to Sjoerd Marijne’s tweet, Khan wrote, “Haan haan no problem. Just bring some Gold on your way back….for a billion family members. This time Dhanteras is also on 2nd Nov. From: Ex-coach Kabir Khan.”
