A man who outshone at the Tokyo Olympics by winning gold unfortunately had to witness and be a part of an ‘inappropriate’ interview. In the interview she, with her few more female colleagues can be seen dancing live over the video call. This interview over zoom video call was hosted by Red FM’s famous RJ Malishka Mendonsa. Neeraj Chopra has one hearts of every Indian by his performance at the Olympics and his gratitude for the win.
Inappropriate Interview with Neeraj Chopra
The clip which was shared by the RJ herself portrays, Malishka Mendonsa and some of her female colleagues dancing to the song ‘uden jab jab zulfein teri‘ from the Bollywood movie Naya Daur. The RJ moves during a video-call to interview him in the 45-second video. But the way they were dancing was ‘inappropriate’ in the eyes of netizens.
In the clip, Malishka is also seen carrying a bunch of flowers, which she points towards Neeraj. Sharing the clip on Twitter, Mendonsa had captioned the post as “Ladiesssss.. Yes I got the hard hitting, deep answers too but.. Take the first 4 secs before the cam moves to the zoom call to guess who we are dancing.”

Netizen’s Reaction over the RJ’s Behaviour
As soon as the video clip and the interview was aired and went viral, netizens started calling out RedFM and RJ Malishka. Calling their act ‘disgusting,’ ‘cheap’ netizens on twitter got angry on their inappropriate behaviour.
Some Twitter users even apologised on behalf of the RJs, pointing out how the dance made Chopra feel ‘awkward’ and somehow disrespected someone of his stature. One user also asked the RJs to ‘stop romanticising male players’ adding that they were ‘much more than a sexual object.’

I don't have anything to do with this but I still want to apologize to @Neeraj_chopra1 for this.

Ugggh! Cringe max. So basically you are perpetuating the stereotype that the man is the real achiever and women are mere mujrewalis dancing to get his attention! How sick and sexist is this. Also, you guys can’t dance to save your life.

Sad to see you guys doing this and even sad is the fact that @RedFMIndia is allowing you all to do it.
I mean, what if the genders were opposite in this case? Had @RedFM_Mumbai allowed that too?
Very sad !

A user name Monica made a statement and said that, “Just reversing the genders and imagining the furore this would have created. Taking informality & “bajateraho”. Too far with a visibly uncomfortable and conscious interviewee. Why is this considered funny and entertaining beats me.”

RJ Malishka also offered him a ‘Jaadhu ki jappi’ (a hug) virtually, to which Chopra looks visibly uncomfortable. It also brings up a very valid point, that objectification isn’t limited to females only.
She: Jaadhu ki jappi,abhi😒
**uncomfortable smile by #NeerajChopra ** followed by sensible reply"Ji aisey hi dhoor se & folds his hands🙏" this show is 101 ways to make your guest uncomfortable.
