The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar tie the knot with Rachel Godinho whom he had known for over 7 years. The ceremony took place at their family’s farmhouse – Sainik Farms in New Delhi. Tejashwi conducted a low-key wedding with only 50 close members from family and friends as he wanted to avoid a large gathering due to over rising Omicron cases.

On 9th December, Tuesday Lalu Yadav’s younger son and Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav got married to Delhi-based Rachel Godinho as per the Hindu rituals. Now Rachel Godinho will officially be named Rajeshwari Yadav.
As per reports, it is known that the couple knew each other for more than 7 years. They have followed each other on Twitter for a very long period. They both exchanged rings on Tuesday 7th December. The secret ceremony of the wedding was conducted at their family’s farmhouse Sainik Farms in New Delhi.
The dates were known to very few and only around 50 members of family and friends were invited to the wedding functions. The reason stated behind this low-key wedding is the rising cases of Omicron all over the nation. Therefore, Tejashwi Yadav wanted to avoid large gatherings at his wedding unlike his elder brother TejPratap Yadav. Not even media was allowed in the wedding.

About Tejashwi Yadav
The 32-year old Tejashwi Yadav is the younger son and political heir of RJD chief Lalu Yadav. He is the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar assembly and MLA from the Raghopur seat. Tejashwi led RJD to a strong tally in the previous year’s Bihar election but lost to the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Tejashwi Yadav has seven sisters and an older brother, TejPratap, who is separated. Tejashwi is the youngest of all the nine siblings and the only one who was left unmarried. His marriage was revealed on social media by the tweets of his sister RohiniAcharaya. Photos uploaded on social media show the couple performing wedding rituals in the presence of former Chief Minister and RJD leader’s mother Rabri Devi and other family members.

People invited to the wedding
Among the relatives and close friends invited for the wedding included the Chief of Uttar Pradesh’s Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav. He was present for the wedding with his wife Dimple who is Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti. The reason behind inviting him was the relation between Akhilesh’s and Tejashwi’s families. In 2015, Lalu Yadav’s youngest daughter got married to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s grandnephew. Tough the RJD supporters were not invited to the wedding, they celebrated and distributed sweets.

Blessings from Family
In the wedding photos, Tejashwi and his wife could be seen touching the feet of Tej Pratap and seeking his blessings. Tej Pratap, who likes to call himself and his brother as ‘Krishna-Arjun’ duo from Mahabharata, tweeted

Tough Rohini Acharya was not present for his brother’s wedding she uploaded several photographs of the wedding, wishing the couple “a lifetime of happiness.” She tweeted –
