A Quick Recap of the Past Incidents

Since 2015, 49-year-old Indrani Mukherjea has been behind the bars in Byculla prison in Mumbai for 6 years. She was put behind bars because it was proved then that she killed her own 25-year old daughter in 2012.

After some months, Peter Mukerjea who was her then-husband and her now former boyfriend was arrested because he was accused of helping his then-wife to murder her daughter.

According to the investigation, Sheena Bora, the daughter of Indrani Mukerjea was killed by her mother and was assisted by her first husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyamvar Rai.

Indrani took the step of murdering her own daughter because her daughter was in a relationship with Peter Mukerjea’s son- Rahul Mukerjea from his earlier marriage. The relationship was not accepted by Indrani and she was mad at her daughter.

According to the reports of CBI, the case was probed for long by Mumbai Police and finally handed over to the CBI in the late months of 2015. The CBI told that Sheena Bora started to threaten and blackmail to her mother because of disagreement on their finances among them.

To hide her crime, Indrani reported told to everyone that her daughter had moved to a foreign country. After almost 3 years the case was solved when Indrani Mukherjee’s driver was caught for another case and he confessed everything about the murder of Sheena Bora. The driver revealed that Indrani first tried to burn her daughter and then dug her half-burnt body in a forest area in Mumbai
