A reactor explosion at a pharmaceutical plant in Sangareddy, Telangana injured six workers on Friday. The blast occurred at a private laboratory in the Bollaram industrial area, causing a fire that was quickly brought under control.

The injured workers were rushed to a local hospital and are receiving treatment for their injuries. No casualties have been reported so far. Police and fire crews responded rapidly to the scene.

Company Manufactures Wide Range of Medicines

According to reports, the pharmaceutical company manufactures a wide variety of drug and medicinal products. The cause of the sudden explosion is still under investigation.

Not the First Incident in the Area

This is not the first hazardous incident at the Bollaram industrial zone. A similar reactor blast occurred in March at the Sreekara Organics plant, severely burning five employees. Back in December 2020, an explosion at Vindhya Organics critically injured seven staff members and caused extensive damage to the facility.

Worker safety and operational regulations will be reviewed to prevent any future incidents at the high-risk facilities in the Bollaram area. For now, the situation is under control and the injured staff are receiving proper medical care.
