Actor turned humanitarian Sonu Sood has joined forces with Arvind Kejriwal and has become the brand ambassador for “Desh Ke Mentor”, a Delhi government’s mentorship initiative. Given the actor’s immense popularity thanks to his active philanthropic efforts over the course of the last two years, Sood’s appointment as the face of mentorship program is as simple as 1 and 1 adding to 2.

The mere name of Sonu Sood is enough to conjure an image of a smiling face of the actor, giving his best to the needy, and in return, receiving blessings and titles like ‘Needy’s Messiah. After COVID-19 hit the country, Sood used the power of social media and used his contacts and earnings to help the poor and needy with emergency medical supplies, procedures and miscellaneous aid.

Sonu Sood – From Philanthropy to Politics?

Skeptics of Sood have considered Sood’s inclination towards philanthropy as a stepping stone to a political career. On Friday, August 27, the actor hosted a joint press conference with Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. However, this conference was not him announcing his political candidacy, but announcing that he has been appointed as the face of a mentorship program.
