A NEET aspirant student tragically died after falling from the sixth floor of his hostel in Kota on Thursday night at 11:15. He was having a conversation with three of his friends in the balcony and when they got up to leave, he attempted to put on his slippers, but lost his balance and went over the railing, smashing through the netting of the adjacent balcony and plunged to the ground.
The Tragic Incident
Ishanshu Bhattacharya, a 20-year-old NEET aspirant from West Bengal died after falling from the sixth floor of his hostel building in the Jawahar Nagar area in Kota. Ishanshu lost his balance and fell on the aluminium railing of a balcony which unfortunately couldn’t take his weight and broke.

The officer said that, he fell from the sixth floor of the building and died on the spot. And till the time he was taken to the hospital, he was declared dead by the doctors. His body has been sent to MBS hospital for post-mortem, and the post-mortem and last rites will be conducted after his family members arrive.
Ishanshu was a resident of Dhupguri in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district. He had come to Kota in August last year and was preparing for the medical entrance exam NEET. The circle officer stated that, he along with three of his hostel mates were talking in the balcony on the building’s sixth floor.
It was the time at around midnight, when Ishanshu and his friends were going back to their rooms, that’s when it is suspected that he lost his balance and fell off from the 6th floor straight to death.

Similar Story Which Happened Recently
A similar heart wrenching incident took place on January 29 in which a 17-year-old JEE Mains aspirant from Maharashtra who was preparing for the entrance test in Kota fell off from the balcony on first floor of his hostel. He had sustained severe injuries and is still in critical condition and is undergoing treatment in a city’s private hospital.
