We all have been to school; we all have been scolded by our teachers for some or the other thing. But the system, values, “sanskar” we were given, we used to put our head down and listen to what the “guru”, our teacher had to say, which included sometimes getting beaten up by them as well. Never would we ever have thought about shooting our teacher.
In a strange incident that took place in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after taking classes, a school student shot a teacher over scolding for misbehaving.
A twelfth grade student from a private school in Muradnagar, shot his commerce teacher on Saturday after being scolded for misbehaving with other students. Although, the CCTV footage shows the bullet missing the teacher.
On Sunday, the Police said that a Class twelfth class student, along with three of his fellow mates, shot at his teacher. This incident happened in Ghaziabad. The incident took place around 1.30 pm on a Saturday afternoon near a private school located in Saraswati Vihar Colony, when a commerce teacher, whose name is Sachin Tyagi, was returning back after finishing his classes and was on his way to home on his motorcycle.
Sachin, a resident of Saraswati Vihar in Delhi, like a normal day routine, was taking classes when he found a 17-year-old boy abusing fellow classmates. Sachin not only lectured the student in front of other class students, but also asked him to leave the class.
After school got dismissed at 1.30 pm, Sachin Tyagi, as everyday, was on his way to home on a motorcycle when he was stopped outside the main gate.
According to the SP (Rural) Eraj Raja, The accused student and his two friends were standing about 150 meters away from the gate. They stopped the teacher’s bike and fired a bullet at him.
After that all the three involved ran away from the scene leaving their scooty behind. The entire episode was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. Interestingly, while the police were scanning the footage, they realized that the bullet did not hit the teacher. There was also no damage to his shirt. CCTV footage shows Sachin picking up his bike and leaving the spot soon after the students fled.
However, an hour after the attack on him, Tyagi reached the local police station and showed a bruise on his right hand. He also lodged a complaint against the student and his friends, who belong to the same school.
Officer Raja said “Based on Sachin’s complaint, an FIR has been registered against three students under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC. Police have also seized the scooter that the students left behind. We are certain that a bullet was fired at the teacher, but cannot believe that it hit him. It seems that the teacher made himself a bruise.”
Furthermore the SP informed that families of the students have been summoned for questioning by the police and mobile phones have also been kept under surveillance.
A country where it is preached to pay respect to your teachers before your Parents as they hold an upper hand in your upbringing. And when you get to know about such incidents happening, makes you question, who are we? What have we become?
