Swades actress Gayatri Joshi and her husband Vikas Oberoi were recently involved in a horrific car accident while vacationing in Italy. The couple miraculously escaped unhurt, but tragically a Swiss couple in another car lost their lives.

The fatal crash occurred in Sardinia during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, when luxury vehicles parade through the island. Joshi and Oberoi were driving in their Lamborghini when it collided with a Ferrari carrying Markus Krautli, 67, and his wife Melissa Krautli, 63, of Zurich.

Collision Between Supercars

According to reports, both the Lamborghini and Ferrari were attempting to overtake a large campervan ahead of them on the road. In the process, the two supercars smashed into each other, causing the Ferrari to catch fire and the campervan to overturn.

Video footage of the horrific collision quickly circulated online. Sadly, the elderly Swiss couple in the Ferrari died in the blaze. Meanwhile, Joshi and Oberoi escaped unscathed.

Joshi confirmed to the media, “Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here. With God’s grace, we both are absolutely fine.”

Tragedy in Italy

This shocking car collision cut short the idyllic Italian getaway for Joshi and Oberoi. The scenic Sardinia Supercar Tour brings luxury sports vehicles parading along the island’s winding coastal roads.

But the tour took a nightmarish turn when the two speeding supercars smashed into one another while maneuvering carelessly. The wreck killed two innocent tourists who were simply enjoying the island’s beauty.

Fortunately, Joshi and Oberoi survived the devastating crash despite their own reckless driving. Yet the lives lost serve as a sobering reminder of the dangers of speeding on treacherous roads.

The tragic accident remains under investigation by Italian authorities. Hopefully all facts will come to light so future collisions can be prevented and safety improved for locals and tourists alike.
