Not the First time Kumar Accused of Harassment
It should be noted that this is not the first time Kumar has been accused of crimes of such nature. Back in 2018, in the wake of the MeToo movement, a Twitter user had posted her first-person account of how Kumar wanted to sign her for a 3-film deal and how he saw a lot of potential in her. In her account, the anonymous Twitter user claimed that Kumar asked her to come to his place and told her that he was looking for ‘relationship involving work and pleasure’.
The anonymous Twitter user alleged that she was dropped from the project as she had ‘refused to sleep with the ‘boss’’. Further, the woman also alleged that Kumar threatened to spoil her career if she broke her silence.

After being accused of the allegation, Kumar issued a statement in which he said-
“I have taken this allegation very seriously and lodging a complaint with the cyber cell of the Mumbai Police to track the mysterious people(s) whose twitter handles have disappeared within seconds of uploading the malicious tweet. I’ll take all such actions as I will be legally advised.”
“Appalled and Anguished”: Kumar’s Statement in 2018
Speaking to PTI, Kumar was quoted saying-
“I am appalled and anguished to know that my name has been dragged in this #MeToo by some anonymous person(s). The allegations against me are bad on the face of it. I have enjoyed an impeccable reputation and have always maintained professionalism. The tweet has been used as a tool to defame me and malign my reputation.”
Sonu Nigam Calls out Kumar, Claims of Having Video Footage
Bhushan Kumar has also received criticism from National Award-winning singer and performer Sonu Nigam. This happened in 2020 when Nigam took to Twitter and came down hard on Kumar. In his angry rant, Nigam said, “Bhushan Kumar, now I will have to mention you. Now you will be not addressed with respect. You have taken ‘panga’ with the wrong person.
