In a horrifying incident reported from Tamil Nadu, a class 9 girl jumped to her death from school after she was asked to stand outside as a punishment for coming late to class. The incident occurred in Tiruchengode, a city in Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu. The deceased girl was a student in the city’s government girl higher education school.
According to reports, the victim jumped from the second floor of the school after 2.30 PM on Saturday. After the tragic incident, the victim’s family blocked the Namakkal highway demanding and refused to accept her body, as a protest to seek justice for the girl.
After the higher officials intervened, the relatives budged and the girl’s final rites were performed later on Sunday. Although a case under Section 174 of the CrPC has been filed against the teacher who instructed the girl to stand outside the class, no arrests have been made so far in the case.

The human mind is complex, amusing, and bewildering. One never knows what actions or words could trigger a person to into taking a grave step that may damage their career, or worse, end their lives. In one such incident, a class 9 girl reportedly took her own life after she was asked to stand outside her class for coming late.
Earlier on Saturday last week, the victim reportedly came to her class later than usual after the lunch break. The teacher asked the girl, along with other students who arrived late in class, to stand outside for 10-15 minutes.

Girl was Class Representative
The incident took place at a government girls higher secondary school located in Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. Reportedly, the victim was a class representative and was told by the teacher that another student will be given the position of class representative since she was late.
Victim Complained of Vomiting Sensation
As the class ended, the victim complained that she was feeling nauseated and rushed out of the class. After the girl didn’t return for a long time, the class teacher asked fellow students to see if she was okay. The victim had by then already climbed to the second floor of the school and had jumped off from the building.
Family Blocked Highway as Protest
Following the victim’s tragic step, she was rushed to a nearby hospital by teachers. However, she could not be saved and was reported to have succumbed to her injuries. Soon after the shocking incident, the victim’s family chose not to accept the girl’s deceased body and blocked the Namakkal highway as a protest to seek justice for the victim.
17 Students Witnessed Incident, Case Filed
The higher officials intervened after the escalation and the relatives accepted the body. The girl’s family completed the last rites earlier on Sunday. Reportedly, 17 students were witnesses to the horrific ordeal. The Tiruchengode police later filed a case under Section 174 of the CrPC (Police to inquire and report on suicide, etc). So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

A similar shocking incident was reported from Chennai, where a 22-year-old man took his life by hanging himself on the account of his wife breaking his phone and chiding him of speaking to a woman. The victim, identified as Krishna was an employee and was married to a woman named Pooja.

Couple Were Chatting Face to Face, Husband Was Texting
An investigating officer was quoted in a TOI report saying, “Even as the couple were chatting face to face after a long time, Krishna was seen messaging on his mobile phone”. The situation escalated when the man’s wife found him texting to a woman even after an hour.
Wife Suspected Husband of Having Affair, Broke his Phone
Reportedly, the wife of the deceased man suspected that the latter was having an affair and lambasted him about the same. During the heated argument, the wife reportedly took the man’s phone and broke it.
The woman then went inside a room and locked herself. It was then that Krishna took the grave step of hanging himself from the ceiling.
