In a horrific incident reported from Tamil Nadu, a Virat Kohli fan murdered a Rohit Sharma fan for insulting IPL team RCB in a booze fueled fit of rage. The incident was reported from Mallur village in Tamil Nadu’s Salem district. The victim of the senseless act of violence was identified as 24-year-old Vignesh and the accused was identified as 21-year-old S Dharmraj. Following the act, Dharmaraj was held by the police.
As one would expect, both Vignesh and Dharmaraj were avid supporters of cricket in general. The deceased hailed from Ariyalur district and the accused hailed from Poyyur. Moreover, the 21-year-old accused had also completed his ITI, and was waiting to have his job visa approved so that he could fly to Singapore for work.
While Vignesh and Dharmaraj were avid cricket fans, their allegiances were different. While Vignesh was a fan of current Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma, Dharmaraj is a supporter of Virat Kohli. Earlier on Tuesday, the duo got into a heated booze-fueled argument over who is better.
In the debate, Vignesh mocked RCB and Virat Kohli. Vignesh also shamed Dharmaraj and compared his stammering to RCB team’s performance. This enraged Dharmaraj who hit his friend with a bat, and fled the scene.
The Facts of the Matter
Likes like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, who are all distinct in their own way, are often compared with each other, and debated about furiously. While these sporting giants play with each other, their fans let their prejudices get better of them and fight with other fans.

Accused Victims were Avid Cricket Fans
The deceased victim was identified as 24-year-old Vignesh and the accused was identified as 21-year-old Dharmaraj. While Dharmaraj is a Virat Kohli fan, Vignesh was a Rohit Sharma fan. The two cricket fanatics were known for debating who is better between the two Indian cricket legends.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, the accused and victim got into a heated argument again while discussing cricket in the SIDCO Industrial Estate, Mallur. The duo was discussing the Indian Premier League and were supporting their favorite players’ franchise.
While Dharmaraj was supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Vignesh was heaping praises on Mumbai Indians (MI).

Debate Heats Up, Man Body Shames Friend
As the debate got further heated, Vignesh shamed Dharmaraj, who stammers. He compared Dharmaraj’s stammering to RCB’s performance in the IPL. This enraged Dharmaraj who assaulted Vignesh with a bottle, then hit him on his head with a bat, and then fled from the scene.

Body Recovered, Accused Held
It was until the next morning that Vignesh’s body was spotted by a group of workers who were going towards the SIDCO factory. Cops were alerted and Vignesh’s body was sent to the government hospital for autopsy.
Later, the 21-year-old accused was arrested by the cops and was taken into judicial custody. It should be noted that the victim was an ITI student and was waiting for his job visa to be approve so he could go to Dubai to work.
