As the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections commenced on April 19, Tamil cinema’s biggest names were among the early voters in the state. Leading from the front were Rajinikanth, Ajith Kumar and Dhanush, who turned up at polling booths even before voting officially began at 7 am.

Rajinikanth’s Poes Garden Vote

Superstar Rajinikanth was spotted at the Poes Garden polling station in Chennai, accompanied by his team. Greeting everyone present, the veteran actor patiently waited for his turn before exercising his franchise. After casting his vote, Rajini flashed his inked finger for the cameras amid a frenzy of fans.

Ajith’s Punctual Presence

Not far behind was Ajith Kumar, who reportedly reached the Thiruvanmiyur booth as early as 6:40 am. Dressed in his trademark whites, the reclusive star set an exemplary precedent by calmly queuing up until voting commenced. Post fulfilling his constitutional duty, Ajith posed for the shutterbugs, inked finger held high.

Dhanush Keeps It Simple

Actor Dhanush too made his polling day presence felt by turning up at the St Francis Xavier School booth on TTK Road around 8 am. Cutting a simple figure, the versatile performer inspired many a young voter with his punctual participation in the democratic process.

Stars Align to Inspire

With Tamil cinema’s A-listers batting for high voter turnout, directors like Sundar C, Vetri Maaran and Sasikumar too joined the electorates’ chorus across numerous booths. As polling winds up in TN’s Lok Sabha constituencies, one can only hope the stars’ enthusiasm echoes in the final tallies as well.
