Recently, two 19-year-old teen entrepreneurs took home Rs 1 crore from Shark Tank India judge Anupam Mittal for their jewellery brand ‘Zillionaire’ targeted for millennials, gen-z customers, rappers, sportspersons, and celebrities. The two entrepreneurs Aaditya Fatehpuriya and Raghav Goyal asked Rs 50 lakhs for 3.3% equity and ended up scooping up Rs 1 crore for 10 percent by Anupam Mittal.

The now 19-year-old entrepreneurs set up their brand ‘Zillionaire’ back in 2020 when they were just 17. Despite their young age, they created a line of accessories and jewellery items that fetched them a handsome revenue sum of Rs 11 lakhs. During their presentation, the duo explained how their startup saw a growth of a whopping 554%, and had sales worth Rs 72 lakhs in the financial year 2022 itself.

The young boys from Jaipur, Rajasthan impressed the sharks during their presentation by namedropping their high-profile clientele. The brand’s products have made their way to always flashy Ranveer Singh, rapper Raftaar, and even Karan Johar.

While the duo managed to get offers, it was not hunky-dory for them. Namita Thapar found the brand’s price point to be too high, and opted out. However, Anupam Mittal applauded the young teens and offered them Rs 1 crore for 10%, which they eventually agreed and shook hands on.

The Facts of the Matter

Thanks to the wave of entrepreneurship triggered by reality show Shark Tank India, businessowners and entrepreneurs from all walks of life have been raising bars for themselves and creating new business opportunities to cater to different kinds of audiences.

Case in point Aaditya Fatehpuriya and Raghav Goyal, two 19-year-old teen entrepreneurs who recently took an investment of Rs 1 crore from Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal.

19-Year-Olds Pitch Jewellery Brand

Fatehpuriya and Goyal hail from Pink City Jaipur, Rajasthan, and pitched their jewellery and accessories brand ‘Zillionaire’ on the show.

The 19-year-olds sought an investment of Rs 50 lakhs for 3.3% equity in their brand. The duo was seeking investment for their new line of custom ‘iced out’ jewellery and sterling silver products. Aaditya and Raghav told sharks that their products are targeted towards Gen Z, millennials, along with celebrities, sportspersons, and rappers.

How the Teen Duo Started, Grew Business

While pitching their business, the duo explained that they started their business back in 2020 when they were barely 17. Both the entrepreneurs explained that their fathers have been into the business of gems and jewellery business for three decades and learnt the ropes of the business from him.

The flashy, in-your-face jewelry was initially made from silver or cubic zirconia. In their first year, the business made a revenue of Rs 11 lakhs, and since then, has grown by 554% and made a revenue of Rs 72 lakhs in 2022.

The sharks were mighty impressed with the impressive clientele of ‘Zillionaire’ which includes the always-flashy Ranveer Singh, always-blingy Karan Johar, rapper Raftaar, among others. Their projection also impressed Sharks.

Anupam Mittal Steals the Deal

Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar decided to opt out as she considered the price point of the products to be on the higher end. However, Anupam Mittal remained interested and offered the young teens Rs 1 crore for 10% equity. On the other hand, Peyush Bansal, Aman Gupta, and Vineeta Singh offered the duo Rs 50 lakhs for 10% equity.

The 19-year-old teens from Jaipur eventually shook hands with Anupam Mittal.
