We totally agree that in any sports the player’s skills are the most important, however, sometimes the physical attributes also have a role to play in their success. Some players are born with this special gift of being extremely tall and let me tell you this height factor does make a difference in the game of cricket, and it is not an advantage only in basketball or volleyball!

1. Mohammad Irfan, Team: Pakistan, Height: 7′ 1″
He was born on June 6, 1982, in a town named Gaggu Mandi in Punjab which is in eastern Pakistan. Though there has been a lot of debates on his actual height, he himself confirmed that he is 7 foot 1 inch tall.
2. Joel Garner, Team: West Indies, Height: 6′ 8″
He is also known as ‘The Big Bird’ because of the fact that he is a predecessor to other Caribbean pacers. He was born on December 16, 1952, in Barbados. His height was 6 feet 8 inches and he happens to be a fast bowler who is famous for demoralizing the opposition batsmen with the steep bounce he generated.
3. Bruce Reid, Team: Australia, Height: 6′ 8″
Bruce Reid shared the same height as Garner, making them the joint- holder of the second tallest cricketer to have played the game at the international level. He was born on March 14, 1963, in Australia.
4. Curtly Ambrose, Team: West Indies, Height: 6′ 7″
He was born in Antigua on September 21, 1963, and made his Test debut against Pakistan in Guyana in 1988 and his ODI debut was also against Pakistan in the same year but in Jamaica.
5. Tom Moody, Team: Australia, Height: 6′ 7″
He was born on October 2, 1965, in Adelaide. He was tall in terms of both his height and playing structure. A batsman who looks at his prime while hitting through the covers and down the track with immaculate power.
6. Jacob Oram, Team: New Zealand, Height: 6′ 6″
He was born on 28 July, 1978, in New Zealand Palmerston North. He has never disappointed Kiwi fans, has always kept them entertained when he is on the field. He usually comes in the middle to lower batting order. Oram’s bowling has been more successful in the shorter format, reaching as high as 5 in the ICC ODI Player Rankings.
7. Abey Kuruvilla, Team: India, Height: 6′ 6″
Yes, we made it to the list. Abey Kuruvilla is possibly the tallest player to play for India with a height of 6′ 6″. He was born on August 8, 1968, in Mannar, Kerala. Despite of his physique, he wasn’t an express bowler but he thrived on his ability to swing the ball and later developed variations such as a well-disguised slower delivery.
8. Peter Fulton, Team: New Zealand, Height: 6′ 6″
He is popularly known as “Two-metre Peter”. He was born on February 1, 1979, in Christchurch. He is a tall middle-order batsman. He first got recognition when he extended his maiden century to 301 not out for Canterbury against Auckland in March 2003 which apparently was his second full season.
9. Morne Morkel, Team: South Africa, Height: 6′ 5″
He was born on 6 October 1984, in Vereeniging, Transvaal, South Africa. He is the younger brother of allrounder Albie. He is an out-and-out fast bowler who has not just the height but also blessed with a tremendous amount of pace.
