Every one of us is very much interested in using hashtags of ‘No Shave November’ by trying to ditch the razor for a month and elaborating our beards to look wild yet cool. However, No-Shave November is more than just an Instagram or twitter hashtag and has a cause behind it, which 95% of us never knew.
What is No-Shave November
No-Shave November is an organization, which has been organizing, ‘No shave November’ campaigns across the globe since last 5 years. It is a month-long journey, where people are motivated to ditch the razor and forgo their shaving and grooming habits and invoke conservation & cancer awareness around the world.
The concept behind it is that cancer affected patients suffer from hair loss during their treatments. Hence, the organization wishes to grow awareness about embracing our hairs and letting it grow wild and free and donate the money which you’ve spent by ditching a month of shaving and grooming.
This has been sought as a two-way method to embrace and foster cancer awareness, health education about cancer & its prevention. The fund collected is used to save the lives of cancer patients by investing in their treatments and aid those who are battling the deadly disease.
The founding of No-Shave November
‘No-Shave November’ is a 501(c) 3 organization which raises money by encouraging individuals to “ditch the razors” each November who has chosen to support the cause. The Hill family, founders of No-Shave November had lost their father ‘Matthew Hill’ to colorectal cancer. As a result, to support cancer affected people and their families, the Hill family started this campaign.
