In a video recently gone viral, a tourist can be seen making a narrow escape while doing bungee jumping as the cord snapped during the thrilling turned terrifying 10-storey jump at an amusement park in Thailand. In the town of Pattaya, a 39-year-old tourist from Hong Kong, known only as Mike, had a terrifying experience while on vacation in January of this year.

According to reports, Mike decided to take the plunge and try bungee jumping, an activity some thrill-seekers describe as a near-death experience. But his adventure turned into a true brush with death when his bungee cord snapped mid-jump.

Mike’s jump was made over a body of water, so thankfully, he survived the fall. However, the experience was still harrowing, and footage of the ordeal went viral after Mike shared his story. The jump was made from a 10-story-high podium at the Changthai Thappraya Safari and Adventure Park.

Mike originally went to the park to try the firing range but was dared by his friends to try bungee jumping. He mustered up the courage and took the leap, eyes closed, and planning to open them again when he bounced back up. But things, as shown in the video going viral, didn’t go according to plan.

A 39-year-old tourist, known only as Mike, decided to take the plunge while on vacation with a friend at The Changthai Thappraya Safari and Adventure Park.

Initially, Mike had planned to try out the firing range, but when dared by friends, he decided to give bungee jumping a shot. Little did he know, it would turn out to be a decision that almost cost him his life.

Video Shows Bungee Jumping Horror

Mike’s horror was caught on camera, visuals of which are now viral. In the video, Mike can be seen leaping off the platform, hurtling towards the ground at breakneck speed. However, in mere milliseconds before reaching the bottom, disaster strikes. The bungee cord snaps, sending him plummeting into the body of water below.

The Struggle to Survive After Disaster

Mike was knocked unconscious upon hitting the water and was left covered in bruises from the fall. He landed on his left side, causing more serious injuries in that area. As he struggled to swim to the surface, he realized that his feet were still tied together by the lower part of the bungee cord.

Despite his injuries, Mike managed to make it to the surface and swim to safety. However, he acknowledged that had he not known how to swim, he would have been in grave danger.

Founder of Adventure Park Says Liability Waiver Was Signed

Nithit Intim, the founder of the adventure park, claimed that this was the first time he had seen a cord snap. The park’s staff swiftly retrieved Mike from the water and took him to the hospital. They covered the cost of his X-ray and ultrasound scans and refunded the price of the jump.

Intim explained that Mike had signed a liability waiver prior to the jump, but the park would be willing to pay for any additional medical costs if receipts were provided.
