Ahmedabad, Gujarat – In a devastating incident, 10 people lost their lives in a road accident on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway in Gujarat on today.

According to the police, the accident occurred when a car carrying 10 people collided with a parked tanker on the expressway. The tanker had reportedly broken down and was stationary on the highway when the tragic crash took place.

“A tanker was parked on the Vadodara-Ahmedabad Expressway due to a technical fault. A car carrying 10 people collided with the parked tanker, 8 out of which died on the spot. 2 injured were taken to the hospital but they succumbed to their injuries,” said SP Kheda, Rajesh Gadhvi.

The impact of the collision was severe, leading to the immediate death of 8 individuals in the car. The two others who were critically injured were rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

The civil administration and emergency response teams rushed to the accident site to oversee the rescue and recovery operations. Efforts are now being made to contact the relatives of the deceased and complete the necessary legal procedures.

“Civil administration reached the spot immediately to rescue the bodies from the car, and attempts are being made to contact the relatives… Teams have been formed to smoothly complete the legal procedure going forward,” added SP Gadhvi.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted the need for better road safety measures and vigilance on high-speed expressways. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident and determine if any safety lapses contributed to the devastating loss of life.
