In a recent update of the farmers ongoing protest, two farmer unions aka Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan and Bharatiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) on Wednesday separated themselves from the ongoing farmer protesters at Delhi borders after the protesting farmers turned violent with the police on the Republic Day.

The leader of Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan, V M Singh, said referring to Rakesh Tikait that “The farmers’ protest will continue till the time the issue of MSP guarantee stands unresolved but not in this way. We have not come here to see people to be martyred or to get them beaten up. We can’t support the movement any further with people who want to take it to some other direction,” he added further “We have come only to get a guarantee for MSP.”

On Wednesday, the Delhi Police detained about 200 protesters on charges of rioting, damaging public property and attacking police personnel during the Republic Day violence. The police have also filed 22 FIRs which have names of at least 10 farm leaders, including Yogendra Yadav and Rakesh Tikait.
