Calling Bhagat a ‘pervert’, Javed shared screenshots of Bhagat’s alleged WhatsApp chat that were leaked back in 2018 during the Me Too movement. Later, Bhagat took to Twitter, and called the screenshots ‘fake’, while clarifying his stance regarding Uorfi Javed.
It all started when Chetan Bhagat was appearing at a literature event and asked the youths to focus on their careers. “Phone has been a great distraction for the youth, especially the boys, spending hours just watching Instagram Reels. Everyone knows who Uorfi Javed is… What will you do with her photos? Is it coming in your exams or you will go for a job interview and tell the interviewer that you know all her outfits?”, he was quoted saying.
After that, Javed took to her Instagram, and slammed Bhagat. She shared Bhagat’s alleged WhatsApp chat that had emerged during the Me Too movement. “Just because you’re a pervert doesn’t mean it’s the girl’s fault or what is she wearing. Unnecessarily dragging me into a conversation, commenting on how my clothes are distracting young boys is such as f****d thing to say. You messaging girls isn’t a distraction for them, Chetan Bhagat?”, her caption read.
The Facts of the Matter
Recently, Indian author Chetan Bhagat and model Uorfi Javed engaged in a social media spat that not only entertained gossip-mongers, but also reminded people of Bhagat being alleged of harassment during the Me Too movement.
While Chetan Bhagat called Uorfi Javed a distraction for the youths, Javed called him a pervert and also shared screenshots of his alleged conversation with a journalist.

It all started with Bhagat making an appearance at a literature festival and asking the youths to focus less on their phones and more on their careers However, in his statement, Bhagat also made reference to Uorfi Javed.

On Sunday, Uorfi took to her Instagram, and called Bhagat out for his statement. She not only shared a series of stories criticizing Bhagat, but also shared the screenshots of his alleged conversation with a woman that had surfaced back in 2018.
“Men like him will always blame the women (rather) than accepting their own shortcomings. Just because you’re a pervert doesn’t mean it’s the girl’s fault or what is she wearing. Unnecessarily dragging me into a conversation, commenting on how my clothes are distracting young boys is such as f****d thing to say. You messaging girls isn’t a distraction for them, Chetan Bhagat?”, Uorfi said.
“A Non Issue” CB Alleges Screenshots “Fake”
Later the same day, Bhagat alleged that the screenshots were fake and a ‘non issue’.
“Have never spoken to/chatted with/met/ known someone where it’s being spread that I have done so. It’s fake. a lie. also a Non issue. Haven’t criticised anyone. And I also think there’s nothing wrong in telling people to stop wasting time on Instagram and focus on fitness and career,” he said.
