In a shocking video gone viral, a UP-based man can be seen trying to fix a mobile phone at a repair shop. However, the mobile somehow explodes, and somehow, the customer and repairer both made a narrow escape from a potential injury. The incident was reported from Pali area of Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, a customer had brought their phone with charging issues to be repaired.

In the video gone viral, a youth can be seen standing on one side of the glass counter of a shop and his phone is kept on the counter. The mobile’s cover is open and the repairer tries to pry out the battery of the mobile with a tool. However, all blows up to smoke, quite literally, as an explosion takes place in no time.

Seeing the sudden burst of flames, customers back off and the shopkeepers also make a narrow escape. As per an APNLive report, the shopkeeper was identified as Mahesh Chaurasia. In his interview to media, Mahesh said that he was trying to fix the phone by getting its battery out. He also added that had he not backed off quickly, the flames from the sudden explosion could have charred his face.

The Facts of the Matter

Fixing phones may seem like one of the most common activities for people involved in the trade. However, there are times when the simple act can backfire, quite literally, and one may stand in the face of being burnt, or worse.

A similar incident was reported from Uttar Pradesh, where a man was caught on CCTV trying to fix a phone, which suddenly explodes, making him retreat and backoff.

The incident was reported from Pali area of Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh.

What Does the Video Show?

The video shows a man standing on one side of a glass counter with their phone’s battery facing up. Another man, reportedly the shopkeeper who was trying to fix the phone, tries to open the back cover of the phone to pull out the faulty battery. However, before long, the battery somehow exploded, making the shopkeeper and the customer, both back away in fear and shock. The impact of the explosion was such that the phone was thrown off on one side.

Shop owner Gives Account of Incident

According to APNLive, the owner of the phone had come to the mobile shop in Pali after his phone had stopped getting charged. Meanwhile, shop owner Mahesh Chaurasia told media that he was trying to check the issue with battery by taking it out from the phone. He also mentioned that had he and the customer not backed off instantly, the flames may have charred their faces.

Following the incident. Town-in-charge, Pali police station Siyaram Singh Patel, mentioned that the cops have taken the cognizance of the matter, and more details are being connected.
