In a shocking incident reported from US, a customer reportedly opened fire at a Subway outlet and killed a man over adding “too much mayo” in his sandwich and went on to injure the second employee as well.

The incident was reported from Atlanta, US and occurred earlier on Sunday evening at around 6.30 pm. According to reports, the victim in the senseless act of violence was identified as 26-year-old Brittany Macon.

After the incident, the owner of the Subway outlet gave an interview to Fox 5 Atlanta where he mentioned that the irate customer opened fire over the two outlet employees over the amount of mayonnaise on their meal. The co-owner, Willie Glenn, told Fox 5 Atlanta, “Believe it or not, it was about too much mayonnaise on his sandwich.”

Reportedly, the 24-year-employee was with her 5-year-old son when she was injured. A third employee at the Subway fought fire with fire, shooting at the gunman, and putting up a little fight. Meanwhile, the accused has been arrested by the police and remains unidentified as of now. All that has been confirmed about the accused’s identity is that he is a 36-year-old man.

According to a WSBTV report, police officers opined how the accused was a person with a gun who didn’t really know how to resolve conflict.

The fast-food franchise outlet co-owner Al Bailey summarized the menace of gun-related incidents in country with one sentence. “Everybody packing. What sense does it make? They want to dummy this society down,” he said.

The Incident As It Transpired

Earlier on Sunday, a customer wreaked havoc at an Atlanta based Subway outlet over the amount of mayonnaise in his sandwich. At around 6.30 pm, the Atlanta Police Department responded to an emergency call raised by a gas station regarding a shooting.

They walked in at the Subway outlet near the gas station and found out that a woman was killed and another was injured over a dispute over the amount of mayonnaise added in a customer’s sandwich. The deceased was a 26-year-old Brittany Macon.

5-Yr-Old Witness to Violence, Arrest Made

Meanwhile, another woman, 24-year-old Jada Statum, was gravely injured after being shot in front of her 5-year-old son.

The matters escalated to new levels when the third employee of the store resisted the gunman by shooting at him. Following the incident, the police were able to arrest the 36-year-old man who remains unidentified as of now.

“Breaks Heart”

Subway outlet co-owner Willie Glenn was quoted in an WSBTV report saying, “It just breaks my heart, to know that someone has the audacity to point a weapon, and shoot someone for as little as too much mayonnaise on a sandwich”.

Police Shares Concerning Statistic

In his interview to WSBTV, Interim Chief of Police Darin Schierbaum reported that arguments have been among the majority of causes that have led to homicides in Atlanta in 2022. “An argument leads to someone picking up a weapon and firing that gun, leaving someone dead or someone critically injured,” the police chief said.
