Veteran Hindi and Marathi film actor Vikram Gokhale has reportedly been hospitalized in Pune where his condition is reported to be critical. The 82-year-old actor has been a popular face on big screen, playing important characters in films including Hum Dil Chuke Sanam, Agneepath, Mission Mangal, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The actor’s health and his hospitalization were reported by Navshakti, earlier on Wednesday.
As per the Navshakti report, VIkram Gokhale was rushed to the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital earlier in Pune. Further, after being hospitalized earlier this month, the actor’s condition has worsened and the treatment has not received the desired response. His family and other associates have so far not released a statement regarding the matter.
A veteran both on stage and on big screen, Vikram Gokhale had retired from taking to the play stage back in 2016 due to persistent throat issues. However, it remains to be seen whether his current illness is related to his hospitalization.
The doctors too have refused to reveal any further details about Gokhale’s admission, and mentioned that his family will give an update.
The demise comes after two major losses Indian entertainment industry was rocked by this month. Earlier last week, veteran actor and talk-show host Tabassum passed away at 78. On November 15, veteran actor Krishna, father of Telegu superstar Mahesh Babu passed away at 79.

According to an ANI report, Gokhale has been admitted to the Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune for the last 15 days, where his condition has worsened and is now critical.
However, the hospital’s doctors have not revealed any further information, and said that it would be the family that would give an update about the health.

As per a report by Navshakti, the 82-year-old actor was rushed to the Pune-based hospital a few days ago where his condition initially stabilized after the treatment. However, over the past few days his condition worsened, and he has not been responding to treatment.

Popular on both stage and big screen, Vikram Gokhale broke into the film industry at 26 when he starred in Amitabh Bachchan’s popular film Parwana. Since then, the actor has gone on to star in 90 films and several plays.
Some of his most popular films include Agneepath, Hum Dil Chuke Sanam, Mission Mangal, and more. He also won the National Award for Best Actor in 2010 for his work in Anumati, a Marathi film.

Gokhale comes from a family of entertainers. His great grandmother, Durgabai Kamat, was one of the first female actors on Indian big screen. Her grandmother Kamlabai Gokhale was one of the first female child actors of the Indian cinema. Further, his father Chandrakant Gokhale was also a popular film and stage artist who acted in 70 Marathi and Hindi films.
