In a horrific video caught on CCTV, a Coimbatore based liquor store cashier was hacked to death. The victim was reportedly gashed 16 times by the accused and so far 1 person has been held in the matter. The incident was reported from Sirumugai town in Coimbatore district and occurred at the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited (TASMAC). The victim was hacked to death earlier on August 15.

The hair-raising CCTV video of the incident shows one man entering the premises of the bar, and gashing the victim repeatedly. Meanwhile, three other men, all holding sharp-weapons, are seen running helter-skelter. As soon as the accused is done with his horrific deed, all other men and the accused himself, flee the shop. A dog can be seen getting agitated at the entire ordeal.

According to reports, the victim in the incident was identified as Kalaiyappan, a resident from Nattarasankottai. Kalaiyappan was reportedly gashed as many as 16 times by the arrested accused, Rajakannappan.

As per a TOI report, the accused and victim had animosity between each other. The accused had found out that the victim was trying to finish him off. Before he could do so, the accused decided to eliminate the victim. The accused had earlier leased the bar to the victim, and had struck a deal of profit-sharing before pandemic.

The Facts of the Matter

In a horrific incident, which reportedly transpired due to enmity between business partners, a liquor store cashier was seen getting hacked to death by a group of men. The incident was reported from Coimbatore’s Sirumugai town and occurred at the TASMAC bar.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old M Kalaiyappan, and the one of the accused held in the matter was identified as K Rajakannappan. The entire incident was caught on CCTV, visuals of which are making rounds of social media.

What Does the Video Show (Discretion Advised)?

Distressing video of the incident shows the accused hacking the victim repeatedly with a sharp weapon in his hands. As the accused repeatedly gashes the victim, four other men can be seen running around helter-skelter with weapons in their hands. As soon as the accused is done, the other men flee the scene. The accused can also be seen making a run for it.

Accused and Victim Relatives

According to reports, the accused was a close relative of the victim. The accused had reportedly leased 11 TASMAC bars, including one bar in Dharapuram to the victim Kalaiyappan. The accused had struck a deal with Kalaiyappan that the victim would pay the rent, and he would receive profits from the bar.

However, due to pandemic, the victim couldn’t pay the rent and asked the accused to reduce it. When the accused refused to do so, the victim gave away the management of the bar to the accused and left to his hometown.

Accused Found Out Victim was Thinking of Killing him

The entire ordeal between the two caused friction and created enmity. Earlier when the accused had gone to Sivaganga, he found out that the victim was trying to eliminate him. Reacting to the information, the accused decided to take out the victim before he could put his plan in motion. The accused conspired with his five friends, and earlier last week, hacked the victim to death.
