Virat Kohli’s Rough Patch Ends?

To say skipper Kohli is expressive and animated is an understatement of epic proportions. Both on and off the field, Kohli expresses his feelings – good or bad, through his gestures, his actions and his playing. The 33-year-old Indian captain has been on a rough patch lately, after being knocked out of ICC T20 World Cup, losing the World Test Championship final and his own average dropping.

However, he hasn’t let the minor setbacks come and hinder his or his team’s growth. With absolute intent, skipper Kohli walked on the Wankhede stadium at the beginning of the 2nd Test. By the end of the 3rd day, the question of ‘if’ India will win changed to ‘when’ it would win.

On the 4th Day, the Kiwis had just 5 wickets to spare and still needed to climb the 400 runs mountain. Indian bowlers had smelled the victory and soon, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel and Jayant Yadav started to trap the Kiwi bowlers.

Ajaz Patel Goes Etches Name in History Books, Kiwis Make Record Worth Forgetting

Mumbai-born Ajaz Patel had a spell and a match that he’s likely to remember his whole life. Patel became the third ever bowler in cricketing history to scalp all 10 wickets in a Test inning. And to put a figurative cherry on top, he scalped 4 more wickets in the second inning, taking the tally to 14 wickets.

Meanwhile, Ajaz’s team made a record they would like to forget and not come to. After India put up a respectable 1st inning total of 325, Kiwis looked to be in a nightmarish form. Not a single batsman was able to play against the spin and thus, Kiwis were all out for a shocking 62 runs. This was the lowest score New Zealand ever had against India in India.
