As the Russian invasion continues, a Russian billionaire has put a $1 million bounty for the arrest of Vladimir Putin, the Russian president. The Russian billionaire Alex Konanykhin took to Facebook and flouted a poster carrying Putin’s image and text that reads “Wanted Dead or Alive – Vladimir Putin for Mass Murder”.

He also wrote a caption with the poster image which read “I promise to pay $1,000,000 to the officer(s) who, complying with their constitutional duty, arrest(s) Putin as a war criminal under Russian and international laws”. It should be noted that the post was deleted from the Meta owned platform. Later, Konanykhin put another status update on Facebook which read, “My offer is getting noticed. If a thousand people chip in a million each, it’d add up to a billion”.

Alex Konanykhin’s shocking announcement comes amid Russian military continues its invasion of Ukraine under the order of the country’s president. So far, both the sides have reported thousands of casualties and injuries, however, experts have speculated that the numbers are massively underreported by both sides.

The Facts of the Matter

Russian billionaire Alex Konanykhin recently stirred up controversy for standing up against the president of his country amid the ongoing Ukraine invasion. Taking to Facebook, he put a bounty of $1 million on the capture of the Russian president Vladimir Putin.

“Vladimir Putin Wanted Dead or Alive for Mass Murder”

He also shared a grotesque yet captivating poster which had the face of president Putin and a text which read – ‘Wanted Dead or Alive Vladimir Putin for Mass Murder’.

“I promise to pay $1,000,000 to the officer(s) who, complying with their constitutional duty, arrest(s) Putin as a war criminal under Russian and international laws,” wrote Konanykhin as the caption of the poster.

He further wrote, “As an ethnic Russian and a Russian citizen, I see it as my moral duty to facilitate the decentralization of Russia. I will continue my assistance to Ukraine in its heroic efforts to withstand the onslaught of Putin’s orda”.

Facebook Removes Post

Later the Facebook post was deleted and for now, only screenshots of the post are being shared on content platforms like Reddit and more. Alex explained the situation in another post and wrote, “Facebook banned my post; do you think it was a correct decision?”. He further added the text of the previous post and removed the image from the post.,

Interestingly though, the Russian billionaire later took to Facebook again and wrote another post which read, “My offer is getting noticed. If a thousand people chip in a million each, it’d add up to a billion”.

Plot Thickens

The plot thickened when the tech billionaire took to Facebook and shared another confusing post which read, “Some reports suggest that I promised to pay for the assassination of Putin. It is NOT correct. While such an outcome would be cheered by millions of people around the world, I believe that Putin must be brought to justice”.

Sanctions Against Russia

Meanwhile, Russia continues to be on the receiving end of sanctions and public outrage. In line with the current sanctions, Mastercard Inc. and Visa Inc. Have also blocked some Russian activities from their payment networks. The UK banned several Russian banks from the SWIFT. Tech giants also have joined forces against Russian invasion.

Global tech player Apple announced a pause on products sale indefinitely. It has also announced limited access to its payment platform Apple Pay. Google has removed state-run media behemoths like RT from Google News. It also disabled several financial institutions from Google Pay.
