In a shocking incident, a Korean blogger was allegedly sexually harassed in Jodhpur, when a man flashed his private parts in broad daylight. The horrific and shameful act of the accused was caught on video, visuals of which triggered outrage on social media. After video of the alleged incident surfaced on social media, the local police took cognizance of the incident, and detained the accused.
It was a typical day for a South Korean tourist exploring the wonders of Jodhpur, India. But what started as a peaceful morning at Pachetia Hill quickly turned into a nightmare. The woman, who remains unidentified, was stalked by a man, identified as 25-year-old Deepak. The man had been following her for some time and finally decided to make his move. When the woman stopped to object, he dropped his trousers and flashed.
While the woman didn’t file a complaint, she did have the presence of mind to share her ordeal on social media. Dr Amrita Duhan, DCP, Jodhpur East confirmed that local police took cognizance of the incident, and arrested Deepak, who is being reported as mentally ill.
Last year, a South Korean YouTuber was harassed in Mumbai by two men, and in March, an Italian tourist was molested on the Ranikhet Express by a coach attendant.
The Facts of the Matter
Flashing, the act of exposing one’s private parts in public, is a disturbing form of sexual harassment that can leave its victims feeling violated and traumatised.
Unfortunately, this type of behaviour is common across the world, including India, and tourists are often the target of such incidents. Foreign women, in particular, are vulnerable to sexual harassment and assaults on street, which can make it difficult for them to enjoy their travels in this beautiful country.
In yet another such incident, a Korean blogger was allegedly sexually harassed in Jodhpur when a miscreant flashed his private parts to her in broad daylight, visuals of which are going viral.

Women’s Rights Activists Expresses Concern
This case is just one of the many examples of the prevalent issue of street harassment faced by women in India. Women’s rights activist Brinda Adige expressed her concern about the lack of safety for women in the country. Adige further added, “These men think they can easily get away and they actually get away with it because our system and our mechanism are also very patriarchal,” as per a TOI report.
