Popular television and film actor Mukesh Khanna’s regressive comments on women recently drew flak when the actor mentioned that if a woman asks to have sex with a man, “wo dhanda kar rahi hai”. For the unversed, Mukesh is best known for acting in popular children’s superhero show ‘Shaktimaan’, and also played the character of Bhishma in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat.
However, the actor has transformed from a children’s favourite to a controversial celebrity in the recent times. The actor often shares objectionable remarks on his YouTube channel ‘Bheeshm International’. In a recent video, titled ‘Kya Aapko Bhi Aisi Ladkiyan Lubhati Hain’, the actor goes on to make multiple regressive remarks over women in India.
“Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ki, ‘I want to have sex with you’, woh ladki ladki nahi hai, who dhandha kar rahi hai. Kyun ki iss tarah ke nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nhi karegi. Agar who karti hai toh who sabhya samaj ki nhi hai. Woh uska dhandha hai. Aap usme bhaagidaar mat baniye,” the actor said.
The actor’s statement can be roughly translated as – If a woman asks a man, she wants to have sex with him, then that girl is a sex worker. A woman who belongs to a good society won’t say such a shameless thing. Don’t play a part in it.
