A woman was recently crushed to her death while lifting 400lb (180 kg) weight at a gym. The video of the hair-raising incident has since gone viral and has been evoking all kinds of responses on Twitter. The incident was reported from Peralvillo, Mexico City where the woman, a mother, tried to lift the massive weight in front of her daughter.
The video of the chilling incident shows the woman slumping under the colossal weight of the barbell with some people rushing to her aid. Meanwhile, other gym goers looked at the woman in a state of shock and horror.
According to reports, the woman’s young daughter has been undergoing psychological support after being severally affected by her mother’s death in front of her own eyes. An investigation has already been launched. The mother’s identity has not been revealed so far.

However, when a gym equipment is mishandled, what follows is a brutal tragedy, often resulting into a death. Recently a woman in Mexico was crushed to death while lifting 400lb barbell at a gym. To make matters all the more heartbreaking, the woman’s daughter was on the spot and witnessed her mother’s death. The incident was reported from a gym in Peralvillo, in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera and the distressing video has since gone viral.

In the distressing video, a gym trainer can be seen adjusting the weights on the barbell and a woman takes the position under the barbell to lift it. A young girl (the woman’s daughter) can also be seen standing with the her.
The woman tries to lift the 186 kg barbell and within a second slumps under its colossal weight. The gym trainer standing beside her rushes to help and tries to remove it. Soon, other gym goers also rush in to lift the barbell and put it away.
When they do so, the woman simply slumps down on the gym floor lifeless. Meanwhile, the woman’s young daughter can be seen panicking and trying to aid her already deceased mother.

Netizens React to Mexican Woman’s Tragic Death
Shocked at the distressing incident, netizens were quick to react in the comments section of the video. A woman’s comment in Spanish read, “If anything just give coaches the cue to always set the brake bars to a correct level. But we know that they will forget it after a month.”

Other netizens threw shade at the deceased woman, claiming that it was a foolish move on her part to lift such a heavy barbell.
Woman’s Daughter Receives Psychological Support
According to reports, the incident took place earlier on February 21 at the Gym Fitness Sport gym in Mexico City. The deceased woman, as confirmed by The Sun report, was between 35 and 40 years old. Her daughter, who witnessed her mother’s tragic death, was deeply affected due to the incident. She was reported to receiving psychological support.
Gym Owner Arrested for a Brief Period of Time
Meanwhile, an investigation has already been initiated by the state prosecutor’s office so as to identify why the woman attempted to lift such a heavy barbell. The gym owner on the other hand, was arrested for a brief period before being released. So far, the woman and the gym owner’s identity has not been revealed.
