We have good news for the Cricket Fans from around the world. You will now be able to watch cricket matches on Facebook, officially. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has partnered with the social media & digital platform giant Facebook.

We all have been through the pain of not being able to watch the matches. Some of us were either busy working in the office while some were studying in the room, locked by the parents, because you know, studies first. Well, now you won’t have any regrets in your pocket if you’ve got Facebook on your phone.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) which is the global governing body of cricket has announced its partnership with the social media giant Facebook on 26th September, Thursday. The agreement is about showcasing of the recap of the key moments from the international cricket matches in Facebook Watch section. This collaboration has made Facebook as the exclusive digital content rights partner for ICC global events in the Indian sub-continent. It further includes carrying out post-match recaps throughout the rest of the world from 2019 to 2023.

“We are excited to partner with the ICC to bring the most exciting moments in cricket to Facebook Watch and to chart the next stage of technology-led transformation in cricket. The future of AR and VR is being charted by Facebook and we are excited about the possibility of bringing the best of our innovations to fans around the world,” said Ajit Mohan, VP and Managing Director Facebook India.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 received unprecedented digital success and became one of the world’s most-watched sports, netting 4.6 billion #CWC19 video views across ICC’s digital and social media platforms. The partnership with Facebook is being viewed as another step towards gaining more and more views and reaching more audience around the world to cement a path of success for Cricket around the world.

ICC & Facebook has entered collaboration for 4 years ending 2023. Through these years, Facebook will officially be showcasing the highlights from the international cricket matches which are conducted around the world by ICC. Apart from the match highlights (key moments) from the match along with other feature content. The match and the highlights will be showcased in the Facebook Watch Section. The Facebook watch is an on-demand video service which was initially launched by ICC in 2017.
