A TN Man has recently made it to the book of records for having the longest tongue in the world and in process, has given a new meaning to the phrase ‘zabaan sambhal ke’. The news is coming straight from Tamil Nadu where an engineering student not only holds the record for having a long tongue, but also being able to write and paint with it.

Meet K Praveen, the potential Guinness Book of World Record Holder
K Praveen, an engineering student from Tamil Nadu’s Viruthunagar district, is one such man. With a long – really long – tongue that goes up to 10.8 cm, Praveen is eying to be placed in the Guinness Book of World Records. He is already officiated into the India Book of Records. To give our readers the perspective, we should highlight that an average human’s tongue length is 8.5cm (3.3in) for males and 7.9cm (3.1in) for females.
Praveen is a Bachelors of Engineering Student who is studying in the field of robotics. Although he is not yet officiated into the Guinness Book of World Records, he is positive that he will be, given the current record stands at 10.1 cm.
“I’m also practicing hard to touch my eyelids with my tongue. I would definitely make it into the Guinness Book of World Records and add pride to Tamil Nadu,”

He Has Trained His Long Tongue to Paint and Write
Recently, Praveen made it into the India Book of Records for not only having the longest tongue in India, but also for drawing jaw dropping pictures of Indian influential personalities. Further, Praveen has extended what his tongue can do to such an extent that he can also write Tamil alphabets by the organ. The artistic record holder is able to write Tamil alphabets by putting a small glove like fabric on his one half of tongue.

The Other Achievements of the Young Man
The 20-year-old robotic student has painted portraits of influential Indian personalities such as Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. As if there’s no end to what all he can do with his tongue, he can also touch his nose several times with his tongue, touch his elbow with the organ comfortably, and more.
Praveen has been noted for being able to touch his nose through his tongue 100 times (average) in just a minute and touch his elbow a staggering 142 times in a minute (average). Further, he’s recorded for being able to write 247 Tamil alphabets in just 1 hour 22 minutes. He has also broken his own record of touching his nose 219 times in a minute in the Master of Asia Book of Records.
Praveen Wants to Go International
The young man from Tamil Nadu spoke to a leading news platform where he claimed that even though he has been lauded nationally, he wants to go international and take his talent across the world. For that, Praveen said that he would need Tamil Nadu government’s help. Due to financial challenges, Praveen has not yet been able to take his talent across India.
This is His Next Milestone
His current milestone he wants to achieve is being able to write 1330 Tirukkural for the Guinness Book of World Records as he is fascinated by the Tamil language. Tirukkuṟaḷ is a Tamil text which consists of 1,330 couplets, each ranging at 7 words.
