In Bhopal, CBI conducted raid at the offices of Dilip Buildcon, one of the biggest construction companies in Madhya Pradesh. The raid was conducted earlier on Thursday at around 9 PM. The CBI team from Delhi conducted raids at the Arera Colony office of the construction company, along with the house of the company’s promotor Dilip Suryavanshi. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, Rs. 4 crores were recovered by the CBI.
Reportedly, one of the company’s executive directors was arrested on bribery charges. In the aftermath of the incident, Dilip Buildcon’s shares had dropped 7.57% and were listed on the NSE at Rs. 441.75 per share from the share price on December 30 which was at Rs. 479.85 per share.
The Facts of the Matter
Continuing its crackdown on illegal earnings by major business behemoths, the CBI conducted another raid. This time the raid was carried out at a Madhya Pradesh based construction company Dilip Buildcon. The raids was conducted at the offices located in Arera Colony, Bhopal, and residential premises.

Why the CBI Took the Action Against DBL?
According to reports, the raids were conducted after a company executive was caught bribing a National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) official an amount of Rs. 20 lakhs.
According to a Free Press report, five persons are under the scanner and being interrogated with the bribe case. This includes the Regional Officer of the NHAI in Bengaluru, Devendra Jain, General Manager of DBL, Akhil Ahmad, Executive Director of DBL, Anju Gupta, Sunil Kumar Verma, a DBL official, and Retnakaran Sajilal. All the above-mentioned persons are interrogated for their involvement in bribery case.

Rs 4 Crores Recovered, Offices Across India Under CBI Scanner
Reportedly, Rs. 4 crores have been recovered by the CBI officials during the raid, which is still ongoing. Along with the Bhopal office of the company, the CBI is also conducting searches at offices located in New Delhi, Bengaluru, Cochin, and Gurugram.
According to reports, the search began earlier last night when the CBI team from Delhi took to the corporate office of the company located at Chunabhatti.
The following day, teams were formed which then searched the residential premises of the directors of DBL.
As the case is with most high-profile raids, no employees were allowed to leave the premises while the search was being continued. As many as 20 CBI officials were reported to be carrying the raid.
Dilip Buildcon’s Owner Was Chummy with MP CM
It should be noted that Dilip Buildcon LTD’s founder Dilip Suryavanshi is one of the pioneers in the field of construction in India. He is also known to have good terms with current MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. Dilip Buildcon is behind the construction of several marquee projects, including the famous Taj Lakefront in Bhopal. Earlier in October this year, it was Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan who had inaugurated the hotel.
Dam Constructed by DBL Was Inaugurated by PM Modi
Dilip Buildcon was founded back in 1987 in Bhopal by Dilip Suryavanshi. The company in its initial year as focused on construction of commercial and residential buildings. Over the course of years, it diversified and got involved in the construction of highways, metro rail along with investing heavily in mining, and irrigation.
The company received a Rs. 3,866 crores tender from the Madhya Pradesh government for the construction of the Mohanpura Dam and Rs. 3,400 crores tender for the construction of Kundaliya Dam. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mohanpura Dam at Rajgarh.
