In an abominable development being reported from Pune, a grandfather, father and brother of the same family are booked for raping the minor girl of their family for over 5 years on separate occasion. Given the girl is currently 11-years-old, she was on the receiving end of a sexual assault since she was around six years old.
The Pune police have filed a report against the minor girl’s 45-year-old father, her 60-year-old grandfather, her 25-year-old distant uncle, and her teenage-brother. The incident was brought to light after the girl revealed the atrocities of her immediate family members during a ‘good touch and bad touch’ session that was held in school.
The girl revealed that initially her father sexually assaulted her back in 2017 when she lived with him and her family in Bihar. Meanwhile, the girl’s teen brother assaulted her sexually back in 2020. Her grandfather and distant uncle also touched her with bad intentions. A case against all the involved parties have been field under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Provisions of POCSO are also reported to be added soon.
Background
Earlier in March, 2022, two Dalit minors in Bihar were gang-raped by at least five teenage boys. The boys then gave the survivors Rs. 3 and Rs. 5 to keep their mouth shut and not inform the authorities.
In the same month, 4 persons in Chennai, including a budding actor, a doctor, were held for sexually assaulting a minor repeatedly for days after getting the minor addicted to drugs.
In November 2021, the nation was once again rocked with the news of a minor girl raped by over 400 men over a period of six months in Maharashtra. The minor girl was reportedly married off and the cycle of abuse started off with her father-in-law.
Although laws regarding POCSO are stringent, low-conviction rate and lack of social awareness leads to thousands of such crimes against minor children committed every year.
Earlier in December 2021, a Tamil Nadu minor girl killed herself and left behind a heartbreaking letter where she wrote, “The only safe place (for girls) is a mother’s womb and the cemetery.”

The Facts of the Matter
A minor girl was allegedly raped of the course of five years by her grandfather, father, brother and distant uncle. The incident was reported from Pune where the girl revealed the wrongdoings of her family members during a counselling session at the school. The girl alleged that her immediate family members, including her elderly grandfather and teenage brothers used to molest her separately.
Minor Survivor Currently 11-yo, Suffered Assault for Last 5 Years
After the minor girl made the shocking allegations, the Pune police filed a case against all the accused under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police reported that the girl is currently 11-years-old currently. This makes the entire ordeal all the more horrifying as the girl may have been barely six or seven years old when she was subjected to sexual assault.
Complaint Against 60-yo Grandfather, 45-yo Father, Uncle & Brother
The police have filed a complaint against the girl’s teenage brother, her 45-year-old father, her 60-year-old grandfather, and a 25-year-old distant uncle. The accused have been booked under Section 354 (Assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
Girl Opened Up After ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch Session’ in School
According to reports, the girl was attending a ‘good touch bad touch’ session in her school and opened up following the session. According to police inspector Ashwini Satpute, the girl had been subjected to sexual assault for the last five years. The minor survivor alleged that her father started sexually assaulting her back in 2017 when she lived with him in Bihar.
The Horrific Trauma the Minor Survivor Dealt With
In November 2020, the girl’s elder brother started sexually assaulting her and moreover, her grandfather and distant uncle touched her inappropriately. As all the incidents transpired separately, the police have not registered a case of gang-rape. Meanwhile, the police also added that relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act will be added in the case. No arrests have been made so far.
